Pictures please!

The mechanical room ts just behind where the wet bar will be in my home theater. I definately need a kegorator back there with taps over the sink.

Lots of technical info online. I took inspiration from this web page: https://homebrewacademy.com/how-to-build-a-keezer/

I’m not sure how to attach photos from the iPad but mine looks a lot like the one in that web page.

Got up early to go to the gym and get the workout done, then on to the plastic surgeon's office for some in-office surgery to remove three suspicious-looking moles on my legs. He used a local anesthetic and it was a bit surreal to watch him cutting out little pieces of my legs and not feel a thing.

Then on to an Outback Steakhouse with DW and spend a $50 Visa rebate debit card I got from buying contact lenses a while back. Yeah, I know, mental accounting, but it feels like the meal was almost free.

The weather today was beautiful, so I planned on taking a bike ride along the Delaware canal to enjoy the fall colors. But first, DH needed a little help with some yard work. Now, after four hours of working outside, I’m too tired to ride. After I rest a little and finish my snack I’ll do some yoga and take a shower. Hopefully there will be a warm day next week so I can get out on the trail.

I used an old trick to fix the holes where the bracket out that holds the screen door closer was ripped out by the wind...I filled the holes with glue and hammered in some golf tees.

The deck furniture was put away for winter and I also spent a couple hours purging and sorting paperwork.

Rained 2” here today and was 40 degrees so spent the morning lounging around and setting up the spreadsheet for the 2019 budget. Made a donation to the Nature Conservancy.
In the afternoon spread some meadow seed that will come up in the spring and walked the dogs as the rain changed to snow. Some people say this is an ugly time of year but I like the nasty weather. 5 PM nice IPA by the fire listening to the news and wind blow......

(emphasis mine) Wow, what fun to know that somebody else is working on their 2019 spending spreadsheet, too! I have been working on mine as well, and really enjoy messing around with it and improving it. My kind of fun. :)

It got down to 51F here last night, with gusty winds, and I was so cold. Brrr. :dead: To me it seems too early in the year to turn on the heat here in New Orleans, so I put a third comforter on my bed so I could sleep. Today is warmer, though, in the mid 70's.

Played today.

Went to the hot springs at 9am, it was all of 32°f outside. Plenty of steam coming from the springs. The river was up and a bunch of kids were playing in the 40° water.

Had lunch at our favorite Mexican place, came home for a short nap.

Going out for dinner tonight. Elk lasagna is the special. I watched a guy bringing a nice bull in tonight, maybe it's dinner?

Spent yesterday with the grandkids. DW returned home with sparkly fingernails, I had rainbow colored hair. :)

Participated in a potluck at the beach that started before 7am.... It was all the regulars at the beach (dog people, walkers/runners, surfers, swimmers) celebrating one of the main regulars' birthday. I brought a carrot cake. Must have been 40 people eating egg burritos, cake, donuts, pastries, etc...

Later I reveled in my nerd-dom... went out playing pokemon go with my son and several middle aged friends for "gengar day". It was very fun.

Finalizing our packing for our Hawaii cruise. I had forgotten what a PITA it is to pack for a cruise. There are formal nights, informal nights, and casual nights.
It is more of a pain for DW than me.
DW and I have agreed that the cruise we booked to Alaska in late April will be cancelled. We have been to all the ports and it boils down to spending $8K to see Glacier Bay. Not worth it.
After 11 years, 41 countries, 51 trips, 500 travel days, and 17 cruises, we are done with major travels.
We are not getting any younger, and we are past overseas flights and airports in general. Bus trips with the constant “on the bus off the bus “also does not appeal to us anymore.
We will take short trips paced at our leisure, however.
We have had a heck of a run, and enjoyed it thoroughly.

How about longer trips, but also paced at your leisure?

A small motorhome or a travel trailer towed behind a truck? Two or three months wandering the Yukon Territory and the interior Alaska, staying in a place as long as you like, and going home whenever you feel like it?

We all get to that point . I think we have one or two more big trips before we say enough .I have a lot of friends that were world travelers and then stopped in their late or middle 70's.

DW and her late husband did a lot of that when they were younger. She is past the stage for that kind of travel.

Well, I just turned 80, and DW is 74, and we have hit the wall

Oh well, we all reach a point where the pleasure of travel no longer makes up for the hassle.

And I think I will reach that point long before the age of 80. It's not that I will have seen all of the world at that point. The world is a really big place, but at some point I will have to say it's enough.

I just turned 76, and DW 66, (hopefully the recent TIA was just an unexplained blip which won't overly impact my medical travel insurance); we're both looking forward to our 'biggy' next Spring.

Packing? We traveled with one carry on each this last trip and figure we can shave that down a bit next time.

Bring it on!

Saturday, Nov 3. Skiied about 17" of new powder at Wolf Creek Ski area. Had to hike a bit to get to the freshies, but it was well worth it :) One of the earlier powder days I've enjoyed.

We took our kids over there for Thanksgiving one year when they were small to check out a place for a family reunion the next summer and to ski. There was not a spec of snow to be found. It sounds much better this year!

I just now noticed the post I quoted. So glad that you are feeling better now, Nemo! What a great, upbeat post after all you went through. :D
