Where do we all live?

Northern part of Montana. We have 9 months of tough sledding and 3 months of ice, snow and mud. Cold, wind and bugs but I still love it here where there are very few people. I would rather put up with some cols days then live were there is hurricanes and such. No destruction from the a handful of very cold days a year.

Silicon Valley

I moved here after going to college in Chico, CA, because there were plenty of jobs. DH moved here from MI to escape the snow.

We’re ready to move on once DS gets off to college next year. Too many people living here now. Not sure where we will move to though. Paradise WAS on our short list since it is (was) just outside Chico. Obviously, that’s no longer an option.

Come on down to Ventura County. Housing prices are less than up there

Hi Oceanview. If you like a small town, Ukiah might be an option. We like it. Or consider the central coast -Paso Robles, San Luis Obispo area. Or Morro Bay if you like the coast.

Far North Portland suburbs, aka Vancouver, Washington. No income tax and no sales tax just across the border.

We live in Chapel Hill, NC in the cooler months within walking distance of the University of North Carolina (we attend a lot of basketball games). In the hotter months I head for the mountains and spend my summers in Linville, NC. The best of all worlds.

Dad was from Champagne--- I always liked the town and as you said the UICU was a large reason.

Last time through was 8years or so ago, as I took the "ole guy" for one final visit. Went by the different houses he lived in, mostly on Garfield Avenue and a couple roads around. At that time the houses were still in a nice state or repair.

My grandparents house was a true 1920s craftsman style. My brother took our father there about 15 years ago and got a tour of the place. All the original woodwork inside and out was still intact.

Our first house when I was a kid was just around the corner from Garfield ave in champaign. Small world! :)

Pasadena area, CA. Plenty of bad things about here.

But the weather and Prop. 13 are nifty.

Far Northwest San Antonio, second hill of the hill country in that direction. Just one hill NW of Fiesta Texas. San Antonio is a large city with a small town heart. If you can't find something to do on the weekend in SA, you have a problem. My little subdivision is in among shopping centers, entertainment, and places to eat yet tucked away from the hustle among green spaces in the valleys that surround the hill. It is very quiet yet just a few minutes away from the city. I have lived here for 25 years the last 15 of which I have been retired. A great place to live.

I live in England on the northern edge of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park.

Home of Newcastle Brown Ale

I live in the Western People's Republic of Maryland, not far from Walt34.

The view from our living room.

Limerick, PA for most of the year. We spend winters in Hillsboro Beach, FL just north of Ft Lauderdale. We’re glad we’re missing the big freeze this week.

Seminole County FL, just northeast of Orlando FL, for the past 35+ years. I can't believe how the Orlando metro area has grown. Too many people here now. Being retired for the past 6.5 years, I'm just thankful I don't have to commute to a job anymore!

Tarrant County, TX for past 26 years. Previously Fairfield County, CT and Westchester County, NY.

About 10 miles west of Harrisburg PA. There’s a farm next to our 25 year kid development; they have their own market.

Grow up in the SF east bay, west Contra Costa County. Lived in LA for 4 years for medical school. After residency in SF, settled in Sunnyvale. A long road trip in 1997 inspired me to seriously consider moving out of California.

We felt like we were drowning in Silicon Valley, especially my son. We love it here. Close to everything, no crowds. Almost no crime locally.

Youngstown, Ohio area. 75 miles to either Pittsburgh or Cleveland. Not the best weather but offset by a very LCOL.
