Got the a-okay from the doctor. Walked for the first time since February. Half hour after the appointment, doctors office calls: Need additional blood work, but keep walking.

Fantastic news. Good wishes on a 100% recovery.

Wow! Big news - so glad to hear it! May your healing continue, and ... yes, keep walking. ;)

Great news Snowbound!

Planted my tomato plants, carrots and beets today. Still getting some overnight frost but will cover if need be.

I also fished for the last 6 days straight.

So far...watched another 3" of rain dump on us. More to come!

Not doing yard work for a while....maybe a good while. Sprinkler system is off for the time being.

I attended son-in-law's graduation yesterday. He now has an MS in Aerospace Engineering. He is a real Rocket Scientist!

Picked up two free logs to use as stands for DW's plants. Spent two hours on a log to shave one end to level. Will do the other one tomorrow. Meanwhile, DW likes the logs so much that she want me to pick up few more. That's gonna keep me busy for a while.

Hope you have found your legs, Snowbound!

I'm driving my motorhome around getting a couple of repairs done. And visiting my brother who is still working.

The underslung LPG tank is beeing replaced since the fitters forgot to add rust protection. It rusted enough in 3 years that the old one had to be removed while waiting for the new one.

And the radiator in the bathroom is faulty - if it's not on max heat the rest of the motorhome isn't heated up. A new dial knob is ordered.

Gave blood today.
I made an appointment for the blood donor bus for 10AM on the phone and received a confirmation message. When I arrived, the bus was not there yet because they didn't start until 11AM. Somebody needs to talk to their programmers.

Drove to the coast today. Lots of rain in the area but got lucky....just a few drizzles in the 3hr drive. Tomorrow will be a washout but next week nice. Enjoying the breeze on my bay view deck while I drink one of my meds.

Rainy day in SW PA. Drove to B&N bookstore/coffee shop. Got Americano. Read a philosophy magazine. Now wasting time on internet.

Congratulations to your family! Our DS should get his MS in Aerospace in August and plans to continue for his PhD. I think they both chose an exciting time to be involved in aerospace work!

Went to ranch and fished in the morning then planted tomatoes in the afternoon.

My DD called me to wish me a Happy Mother's Day so I talked with her on the phone.

That doesn't sound like I did very much, but we were having fun talking so we talked for 5-6 hours. :cell:

We went camping over the weekend with another couple, and with our daughter, and SIL...good times, and good food, even if the weather wasn't (3 30' campers with furnaces). Averaged 50* with drizzle, and a 20 mph wind....oh well !

Across the grassy area from us, in our townhouse condo complex, one unit was sold and emptied in just about record time. Spoke to the people in the semi-adjacent unit - apparently the wife contracted sepsis, (which I'm trying to recover from), and it went into her brain.

Now she's in a nursing home and the husband sold up quickly and moved in with her.

Scary.

La Rambla Street in Barcelona has a lot more foot traffic than when we were here last time in 2007. The waterfront looks all different, and totally unrecognizable from my memory of it. People everywhere. Argh!

We are both ready to go back to our high-country boondocks home to rest and get some tranquility after this 5-week trip.

Exactly our impression/opinion last time we were there.....prefer Malaga nowadays.

(First time in Barcelona was 1963.....it was waaay different then.)

Last week and this week I am visiting DD for Mother's Day. She's spoiling me and my dog. A Mother's Day celebration that lasts two whole weeks!!! I am so lucky, DD is wonderful to me year-round. Today while she is at work, I will spoil her by roasting chicken and veggies for our dinner. Just another wonderful day in ER!
