Delete your Twitter accounts and be free!!
Delete your account and write - I'm Free

I deleted mine a few years ago. Both Twitter and Facebook. Never had some of the others. Does that count?

Freeeeedom!

I've never had one.

+1 Don't intend to either, especially the more stories I read about Facebook.

OTOH, resistance seems to be futile. Clubs I belong to, for example, are asking that everyone sign up for events on FB (whatever that means), and smaller businesses only have FB pages. Some are open so that I can look at their hours, menu, etc. without an account, but some insist that I log in first. I suspect the latter are lazy or clueless that there are people in this world without accounts.

When I retired 4.5 years ago I gave away my twitter account (it was work related, someone else runs it now). Deleted my facebook account (my daughter created it for me, never really used it). Never had instagram or anything else.

Reddit and some forums is about it nowadays ;)

(and to those companies that only have facebook pages - I just dont use you at all. Facebook won't let me see you)

I followed myself. Didn't like it and I unfollowed me.

I find The Twitter to be very useful.

I seldom (a few times a year) tweet, but I do follow all the makers of the software that I use.
Their tweets are useful for product tips and announcements.
I don't follow anyone in politics.
So, in short, I think Twitter is very useful in the business world.

I also don't log into Twitter. I use https://twitterrific.com/mac for following. A great product.

Same here. Never tweet but find it extremely useful. When I was interested in high PSA stuff I followed a bunch of urologists and learned a ton about biopsies, MRI etc. Also have AFib so followed a bunch of electrophysiologists to learn which of them is the best if I ever want an ablation. They really share a lot among themselves including the latest research papers etc.

It's all in how you use it. Lots of experts on there who share wisdom daily. I've even asked dumb questions and gotten great answers.

Twitter is what you make of it because you decide what or who to follow.
I follow news, the local traffic, market news, things I don't mind be updated on regularly.
I don't follow things I don't care about. So if Twitter bothers you, its your fault, isn't it, really?

I enjoy Twitter, but only check it once or twice in the evenings. I don't let myself get obsessed with it.

Also I have only tweeted once, and that was years ago just to see if I could do it. I really have nothing to say on Twitter (as opposed to the forums, where I tend to have a lot to say) :2funny:

Twitter is for celebs, and politicians....no one wants to hear about my inner most thoughts, and I won't share them anyway.

Never Tweeted. Don't really even know what it is/does (and there's a point where you're afraid to ask).

I did, however, learn to text but avoid it.
Oh--the worst sin of all--is I rarely take my cell phone anywhere. But I do have one!

Never had Twitter, and I am about to give up my Facebook account. I only have 3 people on it. I am sick of the "people you might know" from all over the earth, including ones with their names in Cyrillic, Hindi, etc.

Ah yes, facebook. Never there either. Have a friend that calls it fecesbook.

"Farcebook" is appropriate for all audiences...and just appropriate. :D ;)

I still use Twitter mostly for what I call twittershaming -- when companies don't respond via normal support channels, or refuse to help, I complain on Twitter, and unfortunately I have a much higher success rate doing that than going through normal channels. Some companies, like T-Mobile, actually use Twitter as a primary support channel. The people they have managing their Twitter account are very, very good, they've always answered my questions and solved my problems quite well.

Other than that, I tweet my Untappd beer activity, and very occasionally retweet some friends who are active on there, but I sometimes don't check it for weeks. And usually I'm only on there because a friend posted a link to their tweet on another platform.

I use it to track musicians and music venues So I don’t miss shows in my area or places i go on trips to. It’s pretty useful for that. I’ve tried other methods ( Bandsintown app etc ) and this seems to work the best. I also have a some friends across the world that I do hiking treks with and although it’s not ideal, it’s the most expedient way for everyone to communicate. In the end if you are on Facebook just to be on Facebook , then yeah, not much point.
