What was your happiest moment today?

My blind kitty has advanced kidney disease, anemia, a heart murmur and, to make things worse, is constipated and has a bad cold. I took her to the vet this morning, who cleaned out her colon and gave me antibiotics for her cold, as well as checking her blood pressure and giving her an iron injection. She hasn't been eating because of the cold, and probably also due to the kidney disease. I know how this is all going to end, and it probably won't be long (she is down to 4.5 lbs). However, having her colon cleaned out so that the laxative can have some effect, and knowing her cold should be gone soon, made me happy.

I know she'll be crossing the rainbow bridge soon, and have accepted that, but I am determined to make her landing as smooth and peaceful as possible. Today's vet visit made me happy.

Stepping outside at 6:00 pm to admire the new roof (which was put on on Tuesday) and the new seamless gutters and gutter guards (which were installed today) and taking in a big gulp of deafening QUIET after a week of constant din and drilling and nailing overhead. It was impossible to get much w#rk done this week, but the end results were worth it. My little abode is much cozier now. Next up: painting the entire exterior and replacing all the 1970's vintage windows.

Thanks for reminding me about guards. Need to install about 10' on the one gutter our home has lol

Taking the first sip of my favorite hot coffee this morning after taking my dog for his morning walk in the pouring rain. Even 70F feels chilly in the rain after days of near 100F temps.

I am so sorry to hear this. I have been there many times in the past, and will be there again in the future I'm sure.

I've read your posts about your kitties over the years, and I can say that they are very lucky to be your companions. They couldn't have landed in a better place than they found with you.

I'm sure your kitty is more comfortable now after today's visit. It's never easy to recognize the reality that it's almost time to say goodbye, but you are doing everything you can to make her days as peaceful as possible, and that is a blessing for her.

Thank you Calico. Since getting home, she's been wandering around with her tail in the air, and eating - two things that weren't happening before. She's now sleeping peacefully, so I'm happy.

Watching the payne valley cup at big cedar lodge, this will be my first retirement month long trip! If you’re a golfer you know! OMG

It sounds like the vet visit definitely did her some good and improved her spirits. :)

One of my good friends and his DW, just returned from a camping trip to KY. He had posted some cute pics of some "campground kitties" that were around his camper. He posted later when he got home that they had acquired a new little friend. Yep his DW had talked to one of the rangers in the state park they were in and got permission to make one cute kitty disappear from there. So they now have a cute little orange furball to go along with the other 3 they had. He said the vet examined it and gave it a clean bill of health after giving it the shots required.

Spent the day with DD and DGS, enjoying the beautiful sunny day. Unusually warm here this week, but cools down at night, so that helps.

I had a good Zoom interview. Keeping my fingers crossed (and saying a prayer or two) that things go well.

I find this questions shelf life here as a sticky unusual. But thats me.
Ive surely recognized some peoples mood extremes in hindsight.
Good luck & Best wishes....

Spent the day walking the picturesque shoreline and bluffs of Pismo Beach, watching thousands of marine birds fly away, return, settle, fly off again. Made it hard to hang onto any troubles watching the simplicity of their lives in one of tbe world's most spectacular locations.

Enjoyed a Walk outside on this cold, dry day. Beautiful fall colors on the trees. Drinking a hot cup of coffee afterwards, looking at the winter camilia in bloom, attracting the hummingbird couple who stay here year round.

Took the kayaks out on a remote mountain lake 2 hrs away. Wow!

We have several such lakes within 2 hours. Looking forward to winter desert kayaking!

Stacking stuff on my cat. Nothing sharp or dangerous don’t want to hurt the kitty. I’d take a photo on the I pad and send to a friend. They thought that was great fun and starting stacking stuff on their cat. Silly but hilarious.

Voting. I know it sounds corny, but I feel so outrageously fortunate to be able to vote.

I have known others who grew up in actual tyrannical regimes, and their stories are simply awful. Each time I vote I am so glad that I can do so. Things may not be perfect here but they could be so much worse.

Plus 1.

My son called this morning and said the appraisal came back from the home he just sold. It was the same amount he was asking for so that was a happy moment. Now the closing is scheduled for Nov. 13th, but could be sooner.

Dental cleaning/checkup, the first time I'd been there since last February. Some changes - call from the parking lot and they come out to get you so the waiting room is empty. Temperature check upon entry. Tech and dentist both in gowns, face masks, goggles, and face shields. Hold a mouthful of some type of mild peroxide solution for one full minute before beginning. It seemed like they had the drill down pat. They're also going to put doors on every room (that's in progress) and are thinking about a negative pressure HVAC system - yikes, that's expensive!

I was comfortable with the precautions they are taking. I'm hard put to think of what else they could do that is practical.

Many things, as it turns out.

UVC and bipolar plasma ionization may be cheaper options. Far UVC in exam rooms is also a possibility.

Bipolar plasma ionization home units are available for <$170. On Amazon.

Found out my unemployment benefits were approved and I should get a lump sum check sometime in the next 10 days

Our grandson just turned two on Nov 6th and he’s been talking so much and we can understand most of it.

I got home this afternoon and he was here with DH. As soon as he saw me he very clearly called out “GAMMA”. He’s never called me anything and this was very deliberate. He was happy to see me and ran over and held my leg and said it again, GAMMA!

This was so unexpected and delightful. He’s such a joy!
