^^^ Just a mild symptom of [-]dementia[/-] old age. :)

Happens to me more and more frequently.

Well you may be right but I'm only 62 so that's not a good omen!
I did mention to DW night when we re watched a British crime drama that we had already seen it but since we couldn't remember we will never have to worry about running out of programs to watch:LOL:

Picked a few green beans, a few small red beets stir fried them, with fresh walleye for lunch. Live is good! I have a few tomatoes that should be ready tomorrow or Saturday.

Replaced a sprinkler head for an elderly lady I help out. I also irrigated again this morning.

Of course 62 is already old. If not, why do they let you claim early SS if you want to?

Got my second Pfizer jab. It surprised me how happy I felt after.

Because of the jab I plan to go across the country and visit my friend for a few days. She just got her jab too. I'll go in a week or so. It's really nice to be doing some traveling again!

About 30% of our Norwegian population has now gotten their 2nd jab - in a quite strict regime sorted by age. So now you all can guesstimate my age!

I got to experience a bit of the Norwegian health care system in 2019 and was quite impressed, so I'm sure you're doing it in a very orderly manner.

Congratulations on getting through the experience, and enjoy your newly regained freedom!

My student R/C pilot soloed today. Yay! He still needs and uses the onboard gyroscopic system to steady the airplane but since the electronics are more reliable than people anyway the club figures it is safe to sign him off to fly by himself at the club sites. And given the light weight of the trainer airplane he's using he wouldn't be able to damage anything or hurt anyone. He does have enough sense to not go out any buy a $3,000 gasoline-powered airplane with a 10 hp engine on it so that's not a concern. He still wants and needs some additional one-on-one training but this is a huge milestone.

It's great to be able to help someone realize a goal that they set for themselves. Made my day too.

I’m a bit late, but we returned home yesterday from a little over 2 weeks away to find our entire house an inch or more deep in water. .........
Wow, that stinks. This happened to an supervisor of mine in a two story condo with a garage underneath. Leak was in top floor bath and it just destroyed all the drywall from that floor down. DW thinks I'm crazy for turning off the water when ever we are away overnight.

i can't say I've ever turned the water off even for up to 2 week trips. However hearing all the horror stories I may just start doing that.

Quick update actually a couple days ago: I gave both mowers away. One to my neighbor as planned, he appreciated it. The second one I gave to a kid in our church that mows lawns in his neighborhood. Turns out his parent's mower got damaged by his 16 year old sister driving and running over a wheel on it  . So my timing was great for him, pure coincidence as I had no knowledge of the damaged mower. Made me feel good to help both recipients out :)

That’s fabulous!! How kind of you. I’m sure the kid that mows lawns appreciates it.

Confirmed casting call for night shoot tomorrow night with the vintage VW. 3rd shoot with the car.

^ Lol! I'm an idiot also. I meant to say life, not live.

Not today, but yesterday. I provided my employer with notice of my impending retirement. My last day will be August 31st and I will leave after spending just a little more than 32.5 years with the firm. My stress level is already starting to diminish.

Congratulations! Retirement is great, and August 31st will be here before you know it. :D

I won't even run the dishwasher overnight, much less when I am going to be away from the house. Once bitten, twice shy.

I’m a bit late, but we returned home yesterday from a little over 2 weeks away to find our entire house an inch or more deep in water.

The restoration guys said they’d emptied about 15,000 gallons of water.
Our RO unit leaked.

The water got moved out very quickly, our belongings are going to be moved out tomorrow, and we will be hotel-hopping until we can find a place to stay with our 3 beagles while our house is pretty much gutted and redone.

Apparently all our stone and wood flooring will be removed, about 2 feet of drywall, all the doors that swelled shut, baseboard and that kind of woodwork, and oh, our kitchen and 2 full bathrooms will be replaced.

Things are pretty much totaled. Thank goodness for insurance and a very responsive agent and team so far.

Times will be getting interesting. I guess I’d better start looking at Pinterest or some such to figure out what to do.

Sorry that happened. Do you have the option to turn off your water coming into the house when you are gone?

We do and if gone of over 24 hours we just turn off the water source.
I'm glad your insurance is doing the right thing.

Do you turn off your water when you leave? I thought that was a pretty common practice.

I have always turned off the water at my high-country boondocks home when I leave. I never know when I will be back up. Besides the hazard of freezing, a pipe break or a leak would be a disaster when a home is left vacant for months.

Back on the thread topic, today is a rare gloomy and rainy day in the Valley of the [-]Heat[/-] Sun. Can you believe the temperature of 73F? It was 109F this time yesterday afternoon.

We swam in the pool yesterday morning. Today, we stayed indoors and surfed the Web.
