I get most of my groceries from Walmart using curbside pick up. Until this week their app/website was easy to use and I could do my shopping very quickly. This week Walmart merged their grocery app/website with their main app/website and I have now found it unusable. I tried to do my grocery shopping this morning and I was not able to do it. I kept getting notices the website was down, when I tried to get groceries for pick up it kept listing items that would be shipped instead and many items I normally get would be shown as available one minute and out of stock the next. I finally gave up and I guess I will have to find somewhere else to grocery shop.

I think there are several other people on this Forum who use Walmart grocery pick up. Are the rest of you having trouble with the app and website?

I also had trouble yesterday and today.

After placing an order yesterday, which I didn’t have much difficulty with, I realized I forgot an item. In the past I could easily add an item to the existing order, but there was absolutely no way to do it last night.

Additionally, I couldn’t check in at pick up. Had to call the number.

Haven't used the Walmart site in a couple of weeks, but have been having this problem with BJ's curbside pickup all along. They must use the cheapest IT services.

It also seems hard to keep the app focused on the store I want to use. It changes it to another store, which has the item in stock, but where I don't want to drive. One time, I discovered I was shopping at a BJs in Ohio (I live in Florida). Really have to keep a close eye on these apps.

I have learned to shop online from a list. Helps when the app tries to tempt me with "items you may like" or "did you miss something - you ordered this last time."

I have read that Walmart combined their apps/websites on purpose to "simplify" things. But for me it has made things much more complicated. Why did they try to fix something that was not broke?

Because they needed a project for their IT department. Can't let those folks sit around with nothing to do between hack attacks!

I did a pick up order Wednesday and was unable to check in at the store. App puked out. On the upside I got a free 24 pack of Diet mountain dew which my SIL drinks.
Before someone tells to return it, I looked for a "Got something I didn't order spot online and couldn't find it. I'm not hauling my butt into customer service, so I guess it's mine. I would have paid for it online since I do have a use for it.

It's Walmart so they will get it fixed...give it a minute Harllee..I have no other options so I'll wait.

Early on during COVID I think I used the Walmart and Sams Apps maybe once before I realized that it wasn't really needed. Why not just place you order on your computer at home and then call the phone number when you arrive at the store? Maybe it get you a spot earlier in the queue, but I doubt it. I don't remember anyone ever arriving at the store after me, but getting their groceries first.
Maybe I'm just a technology dinosaur.

True enough I do it for the loading workers as I think it's easier and less hassle if they know you are approaching the store. from what I see your pickup window is at least 75 minutes or longer.

The problem is with both the WM app and the WM website on the computer. I tried putting in my order this morning on my computer using the website and it also did not work. As for calling the number when I get there instead of using the app, I have tried that in the past and no one ever answers the number.

I am not that old yet where I cannot go out and select my own groceries. I think I can choose better than a Walmart rep. I hope that day never comes.

Ever consider the online purchasing of groceries might be more related to convenience than to age/health?

Oh heck yeah, I think assuming it's age related is way off. For working families, it's particularly awesome, or for anyone who lives more than a stones throw away from their preferred store(s).

I personally prefer shopping in person mostly, but this past year my nearest publix closed for renovations. Now the nearest ones are not as convenient, and delivery looks a lot more appealing.

Yup. And some executive sponsor felt the need to “do something”. Probably even got a bonus ,,,

You flatter yourself, I've ordered my stuff from Walmart for 18 months and nothing has been less then perfectly fine... since you don't use Walmart why are you even reading this, let alone talking smack..

Same here for the last 18 months. It's convenient and saves me time. I can schedule the pickup for a time when there is light traffic in the area.

Ha Ha, but we enjoy doing our own grocery shopping. We have done so together for years. And will continue to do so till be cannot. To each his/her own. We have a lot of time in retirement.

Actually until this latest app/website screw up Walmart has done an excellent job on my grocery pick up and does especially good in picking fruit and vegetables. I am only 70 but in April my DH had total knee replacement and I hurt my back helping him so the Walmart pick up was a godsend to me. Plus I genuinely hate grocery shopping. Then there is avoiding people due to Covid. I just hope WM gets their act together on their new app/website.

harllee have you tried logging out and logging in again..I did that after I had trouble with my phone app. I noticed they upgraded to the new site sometime on Wednesday

We don't use the Walmart app because they are kind of far for pickup and don't have delivery near us. But it took a loooong time for our local Sam's Club to get their app working.

The local Sam's had signs up in the parking lot for which spots to park in for customer pickup, the app would take the orders and parking spot number, but then the app input went nowhere. We'd park in the lot and get a message our groceries will be out in 5 minutes, and it was all a lie. The groceries were never brought out. I always had to go in, stand in a long line and pick up the online order myself. After about 4 or 5 negative customer service feedback forms from me and presumably more from other customers, they eventually got it working. I can't say I'm surprised to hear that there are issues with the Walmart app now. I used to wonder how the Walmart online order app could work so well and the Sam's app not at all.

I tried today on both the app and also on the website on my computer and neither worked correctly. I will try logging off and back on. Thanks

Our local Sam's doesn't have a number to call on the pick up spots and they don't pick up the phone for the general number. It is the app or no groceries for you, or you have to go in and ask for them.

I agree. I started using the Walmart pick up feature 18 months ago and the quality of the food has generally been great. On the few occasions the items were expired etc I just submitted through the app and got a credit. Easy peasy.
The app will let you add items until 1am the day of pick up.

I noticed this week the app was changed but I didn’t have any issues with it. Just took some getting used to. Like when they rearrange the grocery store.

Walmart sent me a survey about the new app and I gave them several "suggestions". :)
