What is the last thing you ordered from Amazon?

A bottle of Black Current Oil capsules for my DW. I don't know what they are for but she wanted them so.......

peaked my interest--looks like a good thing--works well as anti-inflammatory, and helps with cardiovascular and neurological health.
Always looking for natural aids for arthritis--May have to order some to try.
thanks!

My good friend's kid (24 yr old) did the Amazon delivery thing. He really liked it.

But then he had a car accident and decided to stop, to limit is driving. The accident had nothing to do with the system. Wasn't even his fault. He just realized he was exposed on the road too much.
One of the better things about retiring is that it has reduced my driving by half or more.

I've become a multicooker collector :(.

Ryobi One+ reciprocating saw. I already have Ryobi One+ tools and several batteries, so I did not need to get another battery. Amazon's price was about $20 less than other places (and fell a bit more from the time I put it on my wish list until I ordered it).

I ordered about 45 circuit breakers for the second house service panel and a sub panel that sits next to it. That cost about $1700 but was cheaper than the big box stores.

I thought of this thread today. My daughter was joking that Amazon has been coming to our house every day this week. In the past week, between the 3 of us we've ordered 10 items in 8 different transactions.

A kitchen strainer, a box of alcohol pads, clothesline (for crafting), a cabin air filter for the car, new sheets, a phone case, yarn, a fanny pack, and a pair of running shoes.

I hope you are using your Amazon delivery day so they can consolidate your orders into one or two boxes and only one delivery trip. I do that quite often. About 50% of the time at least one item is delivered early and alone. Still the perfect should never be the enemy of the good.

When they offer the delayed shipping for the $1 electronic credit I almost always take that. The delivery day thing never seems to make a difference around here probably because we’re so close to the distribution center and multiple Amazon trucks come down our street every day. Even when we choose that everything still comes separately. On one item this week the Amazon day was 8-10 days later which was odd. It’s usually only a day or two.

Yeah, that would make me crazy thinking about the "waste" of fuel and person-power in delivering every day instead of once. Of course, that's just me. Some people have Prime (or whatever) and it costs them no more to get five deliveries than just one. Just my particular thinking on the subject. YMMV

The waste bothers us but as I said the Amazon trucks go up and down our street multiple times a day whether we order anything or not so I don’t think it matters.

Amazon sent this email today:

Starting on October 4, 2023, the free option for In-Garage Delivery will be changing to Amazon Day with Key Delivery. This delivery option lets you choose your delivery day and combines your in-garage deliveries for the week so they all arrive on the same day.

If you need specific items delivered inside your garage sooner than your next Amazon Day, a faster In-Garage Delivery option will be available at checkout for $1.99 per order.

Makes me wonder how long it will be before "free Prime delivery" will only apply if you choose weekly delivery, otherwise they will add a charge.

Just thinking back to the time I was a delivery guy for a body shop jobber. Most shops waited until the last second to order something and then would expect it there in seconds. And they'd order 3 times a day. And the delivery guy was always the last link in the chain - so guess who always got the grief?

Heh, heh, but that was then and this is now.

You're right - Amazon is more like the ice-cream guy in the summer time. There's always one on your street.

It’s not uncommon to see two or even three trucks on the street at the same time because they don’t all come from the same place.

I wish they knocked on the door or rang the bell. That’s our biggest complaint. They just drop the package and go so we don’t know it’s there until I happen to check my email.

That's one of the nicest features of my Ring doorbell.
Motion detected, alert to my phone. Tap the screen and see the delivery.

I get pharma deliveries every 3 months and maybe 4 Amazon or equivalent deliveries per year. Probably no need for a Ring door bell or equivalent. Our apartment is gated (the entry and the individual door.) Delivery people have access but have to throw a package over the top of our individual gate. YMMV

Darn, I saw a recent video where an owner drove into their garage and ran over a package delivered by Amazon. But I can't find it.

Instead, I find the video of the Amazon driver having a tussle with the garage chicken.

Ordered a slim RFID protected wallet for travel or when I might be in a high pickpocket environment. I am currently using an old wallet that is rather bulky and does not have any RFID protection. It’s also a bright reddish brown color that stands out, so it’s easier to find if I drop it, and less likely to be left behind. Current wallet is dull green and can hide out easily in wooded and/or dark areas. It would be great if I was a commando working in a jungle environment.

Do they actually do that, throw the package over the gate? I certainly hope not.

Well, I have had packages left OUTSIDE the gate which I'm not thrilled with. But, yes, typically they will throw them over the gate. If a package won't survive that, it won't survive the handling by the gorillas loading the planes and trucks before hand. YMMV.

A very basic $22 drone, for getting a lightweight fishing line over a tree on our property, to support a long-wire radio antenna. I seem to be going backwards in time with my radio experiments, as I just built myself a slightly fancy crystal set.
