Congratulations to the Twins for winning the Wildcard. It's been over 20 yrs but I'm still a fan.

I will watch baseball again as soon as the Cubs make the World Series.
Would also watch the White Sox. Or the Dodgers.

Twins first playoff win in 19 years.

Twins first playoff series win in 22 years.

It's been a dry patch, but this team has potential.

1987 and 1991 are whispering to all Minnesota Twins fans....If you build it...they will win..

Longtime Twins fan here. I attended World Series Game 2 in 1987 and Game 7 in 1991(!). Also Game 3 of the 1969 ALCS.

Yes, this team has potential but I'm not seeing the parallels to 1987 and 1991. This team relies far too much on the home run and rarely (never?) manufactures runs. That's Dr. Baldelli's managing style. Sit back and let the boys hit HRs.

Houston's pitching staff is not the same as the pitiful staffs of the Twins AL Central rival White Sox, Tigers, and Royals. I hope the Twins can do it, but I'm not feeling it this time around.

Nice. I was at Game 6 in 1991. The Kirby HR game.

Houston is beatable this year, but playoff baseball is always another level.

Every single out is hard. Especially in the 6th inning and later.

A Twins vs Diamonbacks World Series would be pretty cool.

Yes, Houston is beatable. In playoff baseball it usually comes down to which team makes the fewest mistakes on defense. Other than Correa, Michael A. Taylor, and Kepler, the Twins are a below average defensive team. The Astros are very good defensively.

Interesting that you bring up the Diamondbacks since they are my new favorite team (my son works in their front office.) I would be severely conflicted if it was Twins vs. D-Backs in the World Series.

The Astros are a veteran seasoned team . They will fight claw and then fight and claw some more . Besides you still have a chance to get 3000.00 free furniture if the Astros win it all .

I hadn't heard that this season but it sounds like Mattress Mack is at it again.

Yep, he does it every year... makes good money doing it from what I read...

Astros all the way!!!

One of my friends bought a $5,000 mattress from him during one of the promotions and the Astros won. All he had to do was pay the sales tax on it which was deducted from the check Mack sent him.

Mattress Mack is a good man , we need more like him.

How true!
Yes he is. I bought some furniture from him ~30 years ago back in the day when we lived in Houston. He was in the store that day and we actually got to talk to him a good bit. He's just a regular down to earth guy... A very rich down to earth regular guy.

He is there Every day . A friend of ours and his wife both worked for him .I couldn’t understand my friends would go to work even when they weren’t scheduled. But he asked me , have you ever been to a SB , WS or a paid trip to Hawaii . No, no .no. He said Mack takes his employees everywhere he can . Treats them good.

When we moved to Texas in 1992, he sold us a couple of rooms of bedroom furniture. He checked us out in the old building.

When I worked out of Tomball, I would routinely see him at lunch in a few of the old haunts in the area.

He's a Houston legend, foir sure.

Remember when he had the tiger at the flea market . He has to watch and stay out of politics . He got involved locally last year and boy they came down on him.

Maybe that is the scam... you should get ALL the money back... that is over $400 in his pocket...

ETA... yes, he is a good man and helps out a LOT of people...

During last years World Series parade a couple of the Houston rappers were on the float with him and Bun B kept pointing at Mack . They said Mack won 7 million. ..It’s funny , he is against a casino in Texas because he would be there 24/7 .

The sales tax goes to the state coffers, not Mack's!

But you get a credit back for any refunds... and that is refund of money...

Just like if you take in a coupon for 25% off... you pay taxes on the 75% cost to you... not the 100%.
