I am paying for Discovery+ through Amazon but when I log on to watch my show, it is not out yet on Amazon's site, yet is out on the Discovery+ website.

I pay the same $6.99 on Amazon but you cannot watch the show on Discovery+.

So....what benefit to using Amazon at all?

If I subscribe to another streaming service through Amazon Prime, it’s only because they have a promo special going on. Once the promo price is over, I would rather subscribe outside of Amazon Prime. One restriction of Amazon Prime seems to be that you cannot share your promo subscription with anyone.

I mainly have prime to get the free shipping, as we order things about twice a week. But we watch Amazon Prime streaming also. Lastly, Thursday Night Football is now exclusive to Prime...and I'm a football fan.

OTOH I got an email about a series that I bought earlier saying that it wouldn't be available on prime until December but was available as a subscription through AMC now and they would give me a subscription for a penny a month through December. That's how customer service SHOULD work.
