Toolman 6/1/16 no more pulling wrenches, age 61 NW 6M 60/39/1
Gave notice last week - end June and away we go! Age: 56
I can't recall what date I gave here to retire, maybe it was July 1st, but I am now retired as of this weekend. That means... it's no longer a weekend! wow.

Bad news, when you retire you lose the concept of weekends, good news, every day is Saturday or the first day of summer vacation
Getting down to single digit days now.
After fourteen years with my employer, last week I was let go unexpectedly.
I've been busy with all the transition errands (new health insurance, unemployment paperwork, talking with family, rolling over 401k, etc).
But as of today, I'm officially retired. Age 47.
While my general mood is positive, there have been waves of grief (I got "dumped" from a job I loved), ecstasy (OMG I'm officially retired!), and anxiety (OMG I'm officially retired!).
I feel financially prepared for this (been FIRE planning for 17 years). But no retirement blog, book, or counselor could have prepared me for how I feel.
I hope to post more later. Let the games begin.
I am officially unemployed as of now, 7/5/2016.
I finished my early retirement project that I started back in 2014. I was on-time, and within budget. My financial goal was within $10K of what I wanted, so I feel pretty good about it.
It will be a bit different not working...
