In my 'hood it has settled into a Cold War with occasional flareups pretty much along voting lines. Red voters carry on like nothing is different while the blue voters for the most part continue lockdowns, cancelling get togethers, etc. But then when the two groups intersect, it can be hostile.
A few guys banned from the Clubhouse for pointing out the servers are supposed to be masked in the restaurant (they were not). And then a week later the place had to shut down when Covid ran though their staff.
People walking right by the big "Mask Required for Entry" signs waiting for a challenge.
Came closest in my life adult life to a fistfight last week over it. Wife is very germaphobe, so we do no play golf with anyone we do not know personally to have been vaxxed. We came to the first tee and some noob(regular staff knows this about us) in the Pro Shop grouped us with an out-of-towner from AZ. It was not busy so we told him "Go ahead of us, normally we would play together but due to Covid..."
He proceeded to melt down and have a screaming rant about "Fing Liberals in California, cowards, blah, blah" I kept telling him to just go ahead, nobody up there, tee off dude, you do you! He wouldn't let it go, it got real loud and ugly quick.
