I have one starter word that seems to be pretty good. I could mix it up with others but why as each day has the same probability of starter word success. If my streak ends I'll probably get more wild with starter words.

Starter words are everything IME. I have a couple sets I rotate through - got off to a horrible start today leading to a bogey.

Yes. I just "use the force" and come up with a random word every day. Today's guess helped me a lot. It was not a typical word to start with.

I don't understand the thought process behind rotating starter words. As Lsbcal says, the chance of any good starter word working well or not on any particular day's puzzle is random. Like a 3 number lottery, stick with one number (anything 000~999), or change every day, odds are the same.

Choosing to use a random word each day could be a tactic to make it harder I guess. Since I've only had one loss, maybe I should? But, it almost always takes me long enough that I really don't want to sink more time into it.

Sure, I have a favorite starter word, but variety is the spice of life! I guess it just doesn't bother me to get a 5 or 6. My main concern is not to spend too much time on the game.

I don't understand the thought process behind rotating starter words.
