Downloading YouTube tunes - legal and/or ethical?

Late to this thread, but for anyone who has a legal interest, Google the Audio Home Recording Act of 1992 and the RIAA v. Diamond Multimedia decision. This does not address downloading from Youtube, which doesn't preapprove postings (but will pull them down after receiving a DMCA complaint).

Yes. There is a music section. Some artists permit and encourage live taping of performances. It is worth an afternoon exploring and streaming.
