Keeping Powder Dry

Well, they have another round to go at 11 am tomorrow. If they blow that I am sure Mr. Market will have his say.

I suppose anything can happen tomorrow because it will be a thinly traded and shortened trading day, but apparently the late word tonight is the fiscal cliff resolution talk is again stuck at another impasse in the senate.
It is not a shortened trading day, so you can react to news all the way up to 4 pm Eastern.

I got a note from my brokerage that said the market closes at 2 pm. I looked again, it is the bond market. You are right, the stock market goes to 4 pm.

This is funny to watch. The markets are now "popping" off their low because the POTUS is supposed say something about the "cliff" @ 1:30PM

Rumored details of the fiscal cliff resolution agreed on :

Tax hike threshold: 400k/y for individual and 450k/y for family
Estate Tax exemption still at 5 millions but rate above 5 millions increased to 40% from 35%
Extend unemployment insurance benefits
Deal for 1 year.

On to a vote?

Next up: Debt ceiling fight.

no vote tonight is the latest - at least in the House.
