Was finishing my quarterly review and thought I'd post this graph just for yucks. My actual net quarterly portfolio returns (not annualized %) since 2003. I'm not a trader by any means, I rebalance and over this period I've slowly gone from 70:30:0 to about 56:38:6 currently. May not be of interest to others, some might think this is too volatile and others may think it's conservative, but for me it's Baby Bear's porridge. Even in 2008-2009 I never made any AA changes and never lost any sleep...

I don't keep quarterly historic IRR's.

I do have annual figures going back to 1995. (I started saving for ER in '94). I started at 80/20/0, was at 35/50/15 when we ER'ed at start of 2010, and am currently at 40/50/10.

Midpack, thanks for sharing. Did your broker firm keep track of quarterly returns for you over years, or you did just by yourself?

Both. My "broker" is Vanguard.

Your returns are quite respectable.

No quarterly data for me, but I do have annual IRR data going back to 2000, when we invested our first dollar.

Thanks, Midpack. My retirement investment is scattered around among a few institutions, including Vanguard and TIAA. I don't have historic data like yours. Based on TIAA (the active one), my 1st quarter return of 2012 is 5.3%. My current allocation at TIAA is: 28% guaranteed, 35% equity, 14% real estate, and 22% fixed income. My portfolio may look very conservative, considering my age (39). I might tweak it a little later on, but now it's my baby bear's porridge.
