"Mysterious" iPhone Issue

Not to diminish the issue with your phone, but there is a service I use called "Slydial" which is how I leave messages for people I really don't want to talk to. Works like a charm and I often get messages back apologizing that they never heard the phone ring.

That reminds me: Back in the day, I was trying to get hold of someone and left them a couple of messages. This person was trying to duck me and each time she would call back after business hours and leave a lame "sorry I missed you" message.

One day, I was w*rking on a project and stayed late in the *ffice. The phone rang and I picked it up to hear a flustered "Ooh, you're still there!".

I figured out why my phone wasn’t ringing. During a Zoom meeting last week I set my Apple Watch to silent mode and forgot to switch back to normal. That silenced the phone as well. Oops
