Never had Omaha steaks, though I have been tempted to try.
Recently, on a business trip, had a dinner at a well-known steak house chain. One steak, a salad (which was extra), side order of fries (also extra), a glass of run-of-the-mill red wine, a shot of Cognac (not XO) to finish it off. Including tax and tip, the bill ran to near $100.
Well, at least it was not my money I was spending.
What made it bad was that the meat quality was about the same as I usually have at home, bought from the local grocery store.
Did I happen to have a bad cut of the lot? Or perhaps a crooked cook in the kitchen substituted in a "grocery store quality" cut, and pilfered the better meat to take home for himself?
I dunno, but at the price that was charged, will not come back to try again.
