You are in Northen CA, near Oregon border! From the picture, near the coast too. Around Eureka?

Yes, that's right.

You have some nice rides up your way Al. That white bike tucked into a background of beautiful scenery is going to become iconographic. I still have the one with the sun rays shining down as my desktop.

Really nice pictures Al.

Makes me want to do some touring up your way.

Are those straps on your pedals? I replaced my toe clips and straps on road bike #2 a couple of years ago and I think I was about the last guy in Santa Clara valley still riding with them!

Hey, I still ride with toe clips (strapless), even on long tours. Great pictures, by the way.

Yes, I still use the old toe clip/strap system. I could go "clipless" (snap in), but for two reasons. 1. It would cost me about $150 at least. 2. Almost all who go clipless fall at least once when learning. That one fall could end up in a broken elbow, etc.

Great photos of "the road taken" :) and a reminder that the best things in life are still free.

I'm a year in with no fall yet. The predictions of disaster made me very cautious so I quickly got in the habit of unclipping whenever I approach a potential stop. I have still come close.

When I saw the title I thought, 'Bet it's motorcycle, not bicycle.' Glad to see I was wrong,Al. Wonderful pictures. I spent some time traveling in that area while stationed in San Francisco in 1969-70. I still have wonderful memories from that time. Thanks for the refresh of my mental picture book.
