I'd take the deal with Jay Leno's salary....
I left MegaMotors nearly 3 years ago. It was hell then. I can't imagine what it is like now that all the experienced people have been pushed out and everyone is doing 3 people's jobs. Wow, talk about stress...........

If it brings no income, then it is a hobby. Please send me all income.Could I call it a hobby and not a job?
Do not say "No". Say "How much?".
Absolutely agree. I loved hunting people, they're the most challenging and dangerous game ever created.
But I don't fancy riding the night shift again, at age 50, flipping a coin in the parking lot to see who drives and who rides. Or, as we called it, whose writing and whose fighting.
And to take the last assignment, or the choice of assignments that I was offered? No, no and hell no.

My BIL's farm is vacant now and I'm thinking of buying it.

There is an alumni association (i.e., Survivor's Club) that has an annual dinner we go to, and outside they always park a brand-new cruiser with all the latest gear in it. That makes me envious - no more fumbling through map books with GPS navigation, no more hand-printing reports with a laptop with wireless connectivity to Records, NCIC, MVA, etc. and now they're getting scanners that mount in the grille and continuously scan for stolen license plates with optical character recognition.
A lot of the mechanical details that created so much drudgery is going away.
Neither did the places where I were! Chintzy bastards!Since I'm still a w*rking stiff, if my old megaconglomocorp offered me enough, I might go back. They won't...
You can bet your sweet pretty avatar there is a world of differenceClearly, I am out of step with this group. Totally. I loved working, but I worked for myself which must have made all the difference I guess.
