Years to/from Retirement

? we have opinions and observations that are valid for recent retirees.
I think we know what it's like to hang it up and start enjoying life.

We may be doing it wrong. ... I don't know ... how many years do you have to do this to be credible?

What is it you think you are are looking for?

Clearly a poor choice of words (credibility) on my part, for that I'm sorry. Not saying everyone's opinion's are valuable. But in the context of quite a few strings I've seen here that started with a pre-retiree asking if he/she had enough money or was emotionally ready - and others who have answered to the effect 'I FIRE'd 2/3/6 months ago and it's great. My advice is to go ahead.' How could someone who has just retired know if they timed it right WRT having enough money or being emotionally ready? Would take a lot longer to be sure IMHO - but then I'm not RE so maybe I don't know what I'm talking about. Again, apologies...
