I’m not a gambler so please explain. Post #50 says you bet way more than that!
gambling creates a risk where none previously existed
go STROS!
So does leaving your house in the morning
What are your thoughts on the Astros vs Yankees? I'm thinking Astros in 6. I expect George Springer to come alive in the ALCS - he showed positive signs last night.
I can confidently say Nolan Ryan's record of 7 [no-hitters] will never be broken....
I heard there was about a 12 year gap between Verlander's first no-no and the most recent. Which is pretty amazing. There was even a bigger gap between Ryan's 1st and last no-no.
but that's compulsory - gambling is voluntary

I bet 1700 on the Nationals to win their division. Lost.
I bet 1700 on the Cardinals to win their division. Pays 2-1 odds. Won my 1700 back and made 3400 profit.
I bet 600 on the Yankees to win the division. Won my 600 back and made 545.45 profit.
So 4000 wagered, 6245.45 winnings, 2245.45 profit.
And more enjoyable than the stock market.

Has it always been a 162 game regular season?
Lot's of rule changes in baseball and football have affected the outcomes and "records" in their sports. IMO, football has been affected much more than baseball by their rule changes. ("Some" of the rule changes have been really stupid/bad decisions, IMO) They have just about ruined the game of football with all the new rules in the past ~5 to ~10 years "like" roughing the passer or kicker and much tighter pass interference calls. (Hello, this is/was a contact sport) Baseball hasn't been as bad. Plus, instant replay has had a major impact on both sports. Just look how many "calls" get overturned due to bad calls. They had just as many bad calls 50+ years ago that were not overturned and changed the outcome of many games. How do you compare team or individual records when something so basic is changed?

Yep, instant replay has been "one of the" few good things. I saw that call last night and agree it could have changed the "direction" (maybe) of the game. Although the Astros were pretty bad last night in general. Hopefully they will better tonight with Verlander pitching.Agreed Car-Guy.
I actually love the way calls are reviewed to get it right.
Cool that they were able to get the incorrect safe call overturned on the double play by the Yankees last nite.
The original bad call could have made it closer than 7-0.
Tanaka was terrific.
Go Yankees.
As a Mets fan, I consider the season to be over. But if the WS ends up being the Yankees vs. the Nats, it would be my worst nightmare (baseball-wise, anyway).
Also a Mets fan, so I root for anyone the Yankees are playing.
Aww, is there not one other Yankee fan here?
Our 12 yr old son pulled us in back in 1998 and we haven't disengaged from the Yankees since. Through a bunch of good and some not very good thrown in.
Ahhhh, Judge just hit it out in the fourth for 2 runs.
Caught some of the Nationals. Had no idea how good they are.
Yanks in 4, sweep time. lol
