I feel blessed that I got out before many of these "improved" communication tools became available. The phone was bad enough. I can't imagine what it would be like now.
I had a boss who had a staff meeting each week to find out what he needed to know. We all (his entire staff) had to sit for 4 to 6 hours while he found out what each person was doing. What a colossal waste of time. I began finding excuses to get out early or not attend at all. Funny, but when I managed to skip the meeting, the boss never contacted me to see what I had been up to. Sweet! YMMV
