What was/is your occupation?

Retired after 36 years as a hospital R.N. About 1/2 of my career was in direct patient care & the rest in management particulary related to areas of utilization, quality assurance, discharge planning, case management. I also did a few stints as a clinical instructor for the university's student nurses.

Shoe salesman, grocery clerk, surveyor assistant, high-altitude gas passer, instructor, quality control manager, plant manager, regional operations manager, corporate finance weenie, and now - personal entertainment czar (AKA: retired)

Wasn't intercst (REHP founder and 30-something retiree) also in risk management? Probably helps you see the upside of stocks and the downside of working.

You know, I used to watch that show "JAG" and think "yeah right, good looking guy thats a fighter pilot AND a lawyer...as IF!"
I never needed a JAG to keep my butt out of jail, but in my interactions with the Navy's lawyers I formed the strong impression that they were JAGs because they couldn't get a "real" civilian lawyer job.

Of course I could be wrong and I still use these guys for wills & POAs. If JAGs are considered state-of-the-legal-art by their civilian counterparts then I understand why there are more jokes about lawyers than about nuclear engineers...

Don't get me started on NCIS.
