You can never sell the Patriots short...even with 20 seconds left.

Wilson will be having nightmares over that last play at the goal line for the rest of his life.

Seattle Seahawks are a bunch of thugs that did not deserve to win that game. And whomever sent in that last play should be fired immediately. Congrats Patriots.

Thought it might be over as I heard car doors slamming as our neighbors guests leave.

I guess the interception at the goal line was karma justice for the miraculous catch near the goal line. The defensive encroachment penalty was a big help too.

Sorry, I misunderstood. Guess I didn't pick up on the subtext all that well. Maybe sleeping in the Spandex outfit last night was another mistake. Do you know if Bloomingdale's will let me return the outfit without a receipt?
(and a few barely visible stains)?
I would try Macy's instead...;)

So what happened to the beer delivery ?

Great game until the very end. I even enjoyed the halftime show.

I am wined, dined, and watching the snow approach from the west. Here we go again.

Way to go to the Pats.

Not the ending I hoped for, but it was a well fought out game.

Great game. Both teams showed why they deserved to be there.

Brawl at the end of the Super Bowl capped off what was a pretty bad year for the NFL.

Carroll must have lacked confidence in the Seahawks' ability to punch it in with 3 downs. Hence the "surprise" pass. Such a pass on 4th down would be expected.

Seattle literally "threw" that game away

It was a great game and the better team won. Brady was spectacular in the 4th quarter. He was 13-15 for 124 yards and 2 TDs against the so called legion of boom. First team ever to come back from a 10 points down in the 4th quarter in SB history. CLUTCH

I still can't believe someone on this forum said that Manning was better than Brady by quite a bit.

It was cockiness on Pete Carroll's part to show the world how that his Russell Wilson beat Manning last year and is going to beat Brady by throwing a touchdown to win the SB.

He was shown laughing with Wilson on the sidelines when they were up 10 in the 3rd quarter. It was way too early to celebrate Pete.........And Sherman given the 2-4 sign when they were up 24. Too early to celebrate loud mouth Sherman ...And the mooning celebration in the end zone.....And Seattle scuffling at the end of the game instead of accepting defeat with class.

Sorry for the rant.

Seattle had 3 chances to pound the ball in from less than 1 yard away. They have one of the top 3 cram it down your throat running backs in the league. So odds are VERY high Seattle would've won if they had run the ball. So to say "the better team won" is a bit of a stretch. They were as evenly matched as possible. Neither team was better. One play in the last seconds decided the game.

If the Patriots hadn't come back from the what, 10 point deficit?, the Seahawks could have afforded an interception.

Of course the better team won.

unfortunately the Seahawks team showed themselves to be poor sports. While I was a surprised by that, it shows why many of the fans in the USA (as shown in polls) have the same low view of the Seahawks as they do of the Patriots. I was puzzled by the poll results before, but now I get it.

Yep, that is a sorry rant. I'm not a Seahawk's fan, but I think your conclusions from limited observations are off-base. It's certainly a plausible view to say that Carroll (and perhaps more directly, his Offensive Coordinator) showed a lot of hubris in running that misguided play that ended the game. But it was also the same hubris that resulted in the Hawk's going for a touchdown with 6 seconds left in the first half, instead of playing the conservative, and perhaps, the best option, i.e. kicking a field goal. I wouldn't ascribe it to personal cockiness.

And who knows what Carroll was laughing about on the sidelines; it might have been about something else and the camera just caught him at that time.

As for Sherman's display, many observers thought -- given Sherman's off-the-field ranting that he is the best cornerback in the NFL, instead of Patriot's cornerback, Darelle Revis -- that this was mocking Darelle Revis (No. 24) getting beat on a touchdown play. In any event, it was not one of Sherman's better moments, but people do get caught up in the hype of the game, like players scoring touchdowns on both sides and displaying "unsportsmanlike" celebrations.

Scuffling at the end of the game -- you point that out! Cut football players some slack. This was a hard fought game; emotions run high and not everyone can meet your expectations of grace. Did you also happen to see at the end of the game how the players, notably Michael Bennett (Hawks No. 72), involved in the scuffle, reached out to other players and coaches. Didn't seem to me that the scuffle was anything more than folks losing their composure (on both sides) at the end.

I really enjoy rooting against any team from the New England area. I'm a big Tampa Bay Rays fan and I naturally don't like the Red Sox although I admire the way Dustin Pedroia plays the game. Last nights game was a real disappointment. But... congrats to the Pats. Well played.

Best Super Bowl ever!! Well, maybe I'm just a biased Pats fan.:LOL::LOL:
