Wow - already out! No surprise really.

I bought mine last black friday. Sure have enjoyed it!

Got a 6-quart IP for $68 as a Christmas gift for MIL! Thanks for the heads up!

I wish they did something similar over here in Canada. I already have one Instant Pot, but I would buy a second one.

So, has anyone cooked a turkey (or parts of turkey, rather) in an Instant Pot? How did it turn out? I've never done that.

You missed the great deal I got this morning at Canadian Tire (see post #98). 6 quart DUO 7 in 1 for $69.99 (49% off). I understand each store was given 150 of them. I bought mine at 9:15 am. They were sold out by noon.

Wow, really? Is the size really 6qts? $69.99CAD is like $55USD.... I'm asking because I did see a Canadian Tire flyer for a smaller sized DUO. Anyway, if you bought a 6qts for $69.99CAD, well good for you!!! That's a BARGAIN!

Yes, it’s 6 quarts, and yes, it’s a fantastic bargain!

I went online this morning looking for Black Friday deals. I have wanted an Instant Pot for some time and had decided to consider it if the 6 quart DUO was ever priced under $100. Not seeing anything attractive on Amazon, I checked Canadian Tire’s website. I couldn’t believe my eyes at this deal and made up my mind immediately to go for it. It said in store purchases only and the inventory at my local CT store was 35. I rushed over there at once. It’s only 5 minutes away. As I drove into the parking lot a woman emerged with two IPs. Inside, they were flying off the shelves. They had other, more expensive versions on display near the entrance, but people in the know went straight for Aisle 70. As soon as the inventory was gone, the offer disappeared from the Canadian Tire website.

I’m normally very averse to bargain hunting, but once in a while, shopping can be FUN!

That's a crazy good price. Canadians don't celebrate Thanksgiving in November, but they sure know how to put together Black Friday deals. I'm happy for you. I wish I could have gotten one too. Boxing Day sales up next!

I've done turkey drumsticks and they are quite tasty. The recipe I use is "State Fair Turkey Drumsticks" or something like that-- I'm sure you can find it online.

Yesterday I did something with the IP that was new for me. DH (recovering from surgery) needed the comfort of some homemade chicken noodle soup. I pulled a chicken breast and some broth out of the freezer and had soup ready in about 40 minutes. I'd never cooked frozen chicken before--it really worked!

6qt 7-in-1 Instant Pot's are on sale on Amazon Canada also. (it wasn't this morning, but it is now.) $69.99CAD (Thank you, Meadbh, for the inspiration! I wouldn't have kept on looking if I didn't see your post here.)

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00FLYWNYQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I just picked one up. Considering I paid $160CAD for my first Instant Pot, this is a steal. (I HAD to get the last Instant Pot because I broke my Emeril pressure cooker, and I needed a replacement ASAP, since I use it just about every week.)

Wow, sorry folks. It's now sold out...

Let me get this straight....

Canadians buy their cooking gear at tire stores....

So do they buy their tires at kitchenware stores?

And where the heck do they buy anything from Trader Joe's now that Pirate Joes has closed?

Well, Americans buy tobacco products at drugstores and medications at Canadian internet pharmacies. So what’s your problem, eh?

For future reference....

I have opened the box, have done the test run, and am starting to make yogurt in my IP. I have downloaded the IP app, where I found a yogurt recipe that I like. Also on the app: featured Black Friday sales (see photo). This information is available to anyone who downloads the app.

Yogurt in the IP had been a big hit in my household. I drain it in the fridge through coffee filters in a big strainer for several hours after it’s done. So much better than storebought.
