NFL: 2018 Season

Agreed, but it's better than the basement position!

I guess that's true enough.

But hey, at least they are first at something. Watson is the uncontested leader in QB sacks in the entire league. (As in getting sacked) He must have gone to the Tony Romo school of quarterbacking. :2funny:

Be careful with those sacks Baker Mayfield is challenging ! Can't bring myself to cheer for the Texans even though they will win the AFC/ south . They could go far a few teams are imploding at the worse time.

The Cleveland Browns have tremendous talent but lack a coach , they are calling it a red alert in Cleveland

Not only has Houston won 5 games straight and are still in first pace in their division, but they actually looked really good during Thursday nights game against Miami even with the terrible officiating.

I wonder who those guys were in those Texans uniforms?

Iggles had very good fan turnout in London. Snagged one Golden Tate III at the trade deadline yesterday.

Watched the VIKINGS get snuffed by the SAINTS. Should be another exciting playoff season. RAMS vs. SAINTS this weekend should be a lot of points.

I've been playing ESPN's Pigskin Pick'em for a few years now. This year as usual I have two entries going. Point spreads are not involved--just pick the winning teams. This last week (and for the very first time) I picked all the winners (14 out of 14) in one of my two entries. First time I've done that. Felt real good. I know, I know, oldshooter, it's the monkeys throwing darts. But, I do wonder if the monkeys get a feeling of satisfaction when they get a perfect score.

Well, you beat me... I was 12-2... lost Oakland and GB...

In my other entry I was 12-2. Lost Detroit and Arizona.
Tallying 12-2 is pretty darn high for me.

The big question is how are your so far this season:confused:

Not the best season I have had as I had a bad start, but am at 74 wins now...

But never have had a perfect week... congrats on that...

So far this season Entry #1 has 80 wins.

Entry #2 has 67 wins. I screwed up entry #2 by failing to submit 13 picks in the 2nd week. The one game I managed to submit lost and one game was a tie (which didn't hurt me). All the other unsubmitted picks counted as loses. I hope not to do that again. The 14 for 14 was in entry #2.

Crazy NFL , we are Cleveland Browns fans and this week they fired their HC and Offensive Coord. Now Vegas has these funny things to bet on and the next coach of the Browns best odds Sean McVey . After looking at the big picture it would be a reach but it could happen . # 2 was Lincoln Riley !

Could the Browns get Sean McVey ?

I think McVey and Goff are teamed up for at least five years. It would be a longshot, though.

Could we bundle Jim Schwartz and Nick Foles for y'all?

Looking rom the outside Goff and McVey look good . But after this season the Rams will be letting players go left and right . Right now they are against the cap, The Cleveland Browns are going to be a hot team to be a Coach for . Lots of cap room , John Dorsey as GM . Basically the GB and old KC scout squad . Baker Mayfield , Myles Garrett and Denzel Ward . McVey was born in Ohio and still has family there. . My opinion Lincoln Riley or the current GB coach . Nope no Foles to play in Cleveland you cannot be older then a 2nd year player . They start 11 rooks between Off. Def. ST.

Close but no cigar. I was rolling right along at 12-12 this last week in Pigskin Pick'em, needing one more win to get a perfect 13-13. Last game of the football week: Cowboys vs. Titans. My pick: Cowboys. I never did like the Cowboys. Really don't like them now. So, I ended up 12-13. In my other entry I went 9-13. (Texas Proud, that gives me scores of 89 and 79 How did you do)?

Just OK.... 9-4 for a total of 83...

Yeah, this about sums things up.

“For now, the Chiefs can keep basking in the glow of a fun and marvelous season. They’ve got perhaps the best and most exciting team in the NFL. When they get to the playoffs, bad weather or not, it’s likely they’ll be the favorite to win the AFC. But as Chiefs fans can tell you, that wouldn’t guarantee anything.”

Just my thinking I still think the NFL wants to get Big Ben another SB ring . I am picking Pittsburgh VS LA Rams in the SB
Cali has experienced a tragedy with the fires so this would be a good story .

Although I would like to see the Saints VS Chiefs

As of Nov. 13, 2018 there was a total of 94 posts on the NFL: 2018 thread (that's this thread you're reading right now).

As of Nov. 13, 2017, there was a total of 167 posts on the NFL: 2017 thread (that's the thread you read last year).

Any ideas about the sharp drop-off of the posts?

From a quick glance it looks like a slightly smaller crowd of posters this year. Wonder if the standings were tighter at the same point in the season last year. I’m just trying not to jinx anything. I know what I’m doing Monday night though.

+1

Who knows... I do not go back and see who is posting and why....

There are times where there can be 20 posts in a hurry with little or no real info exchanged... you know, +1 etc...

Me, I just am not as interested in football as much... only do the picks and fantasy and hope my team wins...

Now, I am starting to get interested in the Texans as they might break the mold... losing their first 3 games and then making the playoffs.. they are one win away from tying the record for most wins in a row after losing the first 3 games of a season... I doubt they will tie...

The Bears are running on all cylinders lately. Very fun to watch them this year. I hope they keep it up and get to the playoffs. This weeks game against Minnesota is pivotal.

Wildest Monday night football game I can remember, Chiefs 51 v Rams 54. Highest scoring MNF game in history. It was like kinda like watching college football, with (a little) better defense. Mahomes had 6 TD passes, Goff had 4. 892 total passing yards. Samson Ebukam (Rams LB) had two defensive TDs. Lots of penalties. 7 turnovers. Crazy game.
