Maybe I wasn't clear. You can download the new version of Money (Money Sunset) for free. It automatically finds the last backup from your old Money program and is good to go in seconds. I just use it to balance my checkbook.

Well... too little too late. Where were they for that last year and a half? I don't think I am interested in throwing away the past three months -- and rebuilding -- to go back to, as it turns out, an inferior product. (I will admit that Money's Reports are better... but not by much.)

To merely balance a checkbook... Excel or the simple[-] "old-fashioned"[/-] manual checkbook registry seems (to me) more efficient.

The sunset version of MSmoney does not come with the online support/Bank Epay capability. I am continuing to use Money, my version is still valid. But I cannot Epay thru my bank as of 10/1/10 -- which is a serious drag for me, running a business & all through it.

The young wife and I just returned from observing Jupiter and Uranus through my telescope. Jupiter is now the closest to Earth since 1951 and Uranus is right next to it in the sky (<1 deg.) Viewing conditions were great, except for the pervasive light pollution in my area.

We've just finished building a house (where we'll move full time next year) in West Virginia on 42 acres. I took my 8" SCT goto scope up last week and the views were amazing, have been using it here in Northern Virginia with all the light pollution and forgot what I could see in dark skies. I was thinking about getting a new scope after we moved when I have more time to observe but have now decided to hold on to this one.

Jupiter/Uranus were great, much more detail on Jupiter than I've ever seen. Did a tour of the southern sky using goto and actually could see most of the objects that I moved to, a really different experience. Globular clusters really popped out, then left the scope set up on the deck and looked at the Orion Nebula in the early morning (about 4:30 am), another stunning view.

Helped my church group build a Habitat for Humanity house for a very nice family of 4. This will be their first time to be homewners. Tenth year in a row the our church has sponsored a home.

My house (or perhaps I should say, the construction zone where I happen to sleep) has become Grand Central Station. Today I had an electrician, two handymen, and a painter all working at once. Tomorrow they start again at 7:30 AM (up to now it has been 9:00 AM). I like the improvements, though. I am starting to think that when I buy my next house, I'd like to put in new paint and new carpet in this same color scheme before I move in (if it is needed).

We were talking about that at lunch today! So far, I haven't changed my mind. Still, I can't believe how beautiful and functional my house has become (do I really live in this palace? ) and I think it would be wonderful if my next house was this nice, too.

I returned to dancing after the 2 week layoff to allow my skin surgery wound to heal. Felt very good to be back, it is a huge dose of pleasure essentailly for free.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the firewood stuff Freebird. I'm still scratching my head on how to handle the wood pile. It'll have to be some combo of tarping and airing out. We cannot really do a wood shed on the property. Also have to watch out that the homeowners association doesn't disapprove of our wood pile solution. Anyway the stuff will not go in the garage this year!

Today I made 5 mini apple pies and 1 full size cherry pie (using canned filling). Betty Crocker would have been proud.

I ate half of one of the mini apple pies with melted cheddar cheese. The cherry pie is being saved for tomorrow to go with coffee for 2.

I'm jealous. I've had a 6 in. achromatic refractor for about 8 years now and I'd really like to see what it could do under dark skies, but it's not something you can just tuck in a backpack.

The short answer is "No, not really", though it precipitated our search and turned our thoughts towards the idea of moving, which really was not something we were considering before. Post-Katrina New Orleans still has a lot of problems and Springfield appeals to us in a number of ways. I guess we are the last of the Katrina diaspora.

As you know, this has been a difficult decision and it is not written in stone, nor will it be after we move. If he changed his mind tomorrow, I would stay here with him but he has not and neither have I. We have discussed it constantly for the past five years. I think we have to reach for our dream, or we will always wonder.

Today , I waited for a painter who never showed . Two days ago the painter showed but gave me a crazy estimate . I have one more to try and if that does not work out . We are doing the work ourselves . Actually Gary is doing the painting but I'll run to Home Depot for the paint .

You know, we have had this type of thing happen with contractors so many times that SO and I have become much more DIY than we ever intended. We have a bathroom that really needs to be re-done. We're reluctant to take on such a large project ourselves, so I think we are subconsciously holding out until we find a contractor we think will actually show up and do quality work.

I am out in the middle of nowhere for the summer and fall. No light pollution at all. The milky way is as plain as daylight. But I've missed the close up of Jupiter. Rain. Rain. Rain.

Just got back from 5 days in Kill Devil Hills, NC. When travelling, always take Sarah in SC's gustatorial advice. The Outer Banks Brewing Station was excellent.

DW got certified as a Hypnotherapist. I'm going to get her to work with me to lose some weight. If it works I'm buying into the theory 100%. I've tried most everything with no sucess. I'm too susceptible to the call of the Whopper. It will be interesting to see how this goes.

The No Swimming flags were out Mon - Wed, but I got to play in the ocean on Thursday. Had a blast. Also a hike on the Sweetgum Trail in the Nags Head Wildlife Preserve. There are actually hills in Kill Devil Hills! We're going back in March, so I'm saving the Wright Bothers Memorial and the NC Aquarium for that trip.

A tip...

There is a wonderful blue painter's tape available at any paint store that makes life SO EASY when painting. I buy the wider size tape and cheap white plastic kitchen bags. I run the tape, cut the bags open at the seams, and affix the plastic bags to the underside of the tape to protect the windows and wallpapered walls from splatters. Completely reusable for the next section.

Nice to be meeting folks originally from my neck of the woods (just north of NYC). He wants to hop the Amtrak and show me the Big Apple the RIGHT way on a day trip. And of course I will have to eat a big salty soft pretzel,
a slice [-]or two[/-] of REAL pizza, and a hot pastrami sandwich on REAL rye bread while I'm there.
