This thread has drawn some very thoughtful answers. My opinion is that it's not much time and all your equipment is probably designed to deal with a power outage. The fridge and freezer, if left closed, will be just fine. If I know a power outage is likely the main thing I focus on is getting the house to an appropriate temperature to get ne through it. In the summer that may mean doing the temperature to 68 degrees, in the winter maybe raising it to 74.
