I mostly agree with this, but I wouldn't ban those sorts of threads outright.

Don't worry, it's just "if Aeri ruled the world" and not something I'm campaigning for.

Or even one not so esteemed! I've read stuff from places others would dismiss too new, or too left or too right. I'll often then look at the author or publication to see what else they offer, but unless there's a super overt agenda push there's usually some grain of use in most stuff that makes it into the wild.

So the problem is the article, or the inevitable harrumph comments? I’d say the article is not the problem. We certainly don’t need an article or other third party to prompt “harrumphs” - happens to many other threads eventually. Use your magic wand for good...

It's just my personal pet peeve - threads that start with "so this article", just my own little tick, because they are so easily side-tracked by the source vs. the content just like we're all doing here!
