Snow on Monday to needing to mow the lawn by Thursday.
Weird weather this spring.
Weird weather this spring.
Our highs have been in the mid 90's for the past four or five days. Summer is definitely here! This is warm for May, even here in New Orleans. Whew, what a scorcher today.
Due to the new HVAC system I had installed in 2016, I didn't realize how hot it was outside until I looked online and then later went out into the inferno out there.
The new HVAC wasn't cheap but worth every penny ($7200, so 720,000 pennies). Since it is newer and more energy efficient, my energy bills are lower too.
Congrats W2R on your moderator retirement from this site. I appreciate all your work and your specific assistance to me at the beginning of my postings.
Thank you! I'm thrilled to be making this change, which has been in the works for quite a while. I loved being an Admin, and helping out all that I could, but now I'm ready to put that aside and just post.
Thank you, and the same to you! Your hard work when you were a mod was and is appreciated a lot. Thanks for all the hard work and gobs of time while on duty.
This has been such a hot summer! Whew. Is it hot where you live?
Here, it is insanely hot (which is how we know it is New Orleans in July! ). The temperatures shown by Wunderground (below) are a little higher than the official temperatures, but still, gosh. Opening the door to go outside, feels like opening the door to an oven. I am so glad to have my new AC system which keeps things nice and cool inside.
Oh well, at least there aren't any hurricanes in the Gulf of Mexico at the moment...
It's an insane 71°F here right now. The next week is 50° for a low and 80° F high with a chance of rain. Some infrequent clouds. We've used our AC three times this year for part of the day. I hope it rains more.

Winter there? [emoji12]Lots of 90s and high humidity this summer in Southern Ontario. Had to come to Africa to escape it... highs in the mid-50s and lows in the high 40s this week. We could see our breath yesterday morning.
Yikes! That is SO HOT. Ice water, anybody?110* here. Bring out the sponges...I'm melting....
