Terrific! What kind of bike are you going to get?
I was probably the only student they've ever had in the class who did not intend to ever ride a motorcycle again, LOL. I really just wanted to be able to learn how to shift and handle the motorcycle in a safe environment and use the smaller training bikes they have. Plus I wouldn't have to take the regular DMV test (because I don't have a bike to borrow).

I will definitely be a more careful 4-wheeler, so all you bikers can feel just a bit safer that I at least, won't be the one to run you over at the intersection!
:D
As it turns out, the three wheeler will have little in common with the handling of a regular bike, especially relating to steering and turning. High side turnovers are going to be a special area of concern. And let's just say that I got 7 points counted off for my lousy quick stop! :D

Is your 3 wheeler the new style with the two wheels in the front or more like a tricycle with the two wheels in the back? For some reasons it seems to me that the new style would be more stable.

Oh, pb, you have no idea. :D This is what we'll be driving for a couple of weeks in Peru starting Jan 1st. See my thread http://www.early-retirement.org/forums/f46/mototaxi-junket-54020.html

But, I have seen those spider type bikes on the road and they do look pretty cool. Alas, I have way too many things with motors in my life already to pick up another expensive hobby.

I had my GF and my son and DIL and G-daugheter over to see my new place. Granddaughter said she likes it, she can both pee and poop there.

Coming from a kid, that's praise indeed!:LOL:

Today, I'm loading Rita, (our Airstream), & getting her ready for our holiday trip to Feather Falls Casino.... as some of you know. Feather Falls KOA is our fav place to go. Raining today, but it looks like clear dry weather for Friday thru Sunday.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ha

Did not know the new place came with an outhouse.:D

I was approached by a local Eyewitness News reporter as I was leaving a popular mom-n-pop grocery store in Utica NY. I did not see the news truck parked 3 spaces away from my car.
So I asked her if she had some ID to show me. That caught her totally off guard. I explained I was not much of a TV watcher, much less the news. She laughed and gave me a business card. I said OK, then, roll 'em.
She asked me all kinds of questions about weight gain and "what is the most fattening part of Thanksgiving?". My answer? Gravy and mashed potatoes, and of course rich desserts.
An entire 5 seconds of my interview was used on the news tonight. I actually looked and sounded pretty good.

Please form a line for my autograph.

I got a chuckle from this Ha. It reminded me of my little G-daughter (not quite 3 years) who has just completed potty training. When I last visited, she was so proud of pooping in the big potty that she wanted everyone to come see the 'product'. In fact, she insisted I take picture of it, which I did. :dead: Since she uses about 8 feet of paper, the picture reminds me of a giant white snake coiled up in a toilet with one beady little eye looking up. Oh, and she wants a book to look at while she sits on the potty too. ;)

Hey Free,

I watched and yes, you looked great, and sounded quite sharp.

Thanks for posting this! That was fun. :)

You asked for an ID from a reporter, who are you, the Secret Service?

Got home this afternoon from an educational trip to New England. Learned some new techniques in one of my hobbies, then stopped off in NYC to visit a couple of museums (MoMA and the magnificent new Islamic art gallery at the Metropolitan Museum of Art).

Just put the turkey in the brine. It's kind of funny. Bought the frozen turkey last Tuesday, and it has been sitting in a refrigerator since then. Opened it this evening, and there were still a few ice crystals evident. I would love to know exactly how cold they freeze those suckers before delivering them to the supermarket!

Turkey sits in the brine overnight. Tomorrow morning, DW and I will participate in the 102nd annual running of the Cincinnati Thanksgiving Day Race. It's just a 10K, but it's the second oldest road race in the country.

When we get home (having worked up a healthy appetite), I'll cook the bird on the BGE and I'm looking forward to trying a low carb pumpkin pie.

Went to farmers market & collected quartered turkey.
Went to Meijer & observed an arrest occurring.

BGE = big green egg -- I had to look it up.

Thanks for the heads-up, Brau. I checked our 10 pounder and it was still a little frozen, so I removed the stuff inside, and spread eagled it, and it should be OK tomorrow.

Finally-- finally! caught the rodent that's been running amok in our attic for the last couple weeks.

He passed up all the traps baited with peanut-butter cheese balls, but he went for the peanut-butter apple slice. And then he was transported to a secure undisclosed location.

Little sucker chewed through the solar water heater's control wire. I also need to go check the vicinity of the bathroom exhaust fan ducting to see what he was chewing so vigorously the other night.

I think we're rodent-free again, and now that the familyroom renovation is finished the critters will probably stay out. But I baited one more round of traps to check this morning.

Congratulations -- those suckers are smart.

Plentiful, too. We caught a second one last night. Big guy. Well out of the "cute mouse" sparring bracket and substantially into "rat" category. Extremely pissed off.

I hope I've captured the breeding pair. I don't know whether to be more worried that they found a way to get into the house last night or that they've been living in the attic for the last couple weeks.

I'd like to blame this on the house being torn apart during the renovation, and on a contractor who used to store his snacks on the site overnight. I sure hope this isn't going to be the daily routine. But I guess when cats start hanging around your house and getting up on your roof, it's not because they like your friendly face or because you eat a lot of fish.

Looks like we're gonna need another bag of apples and a bucket of peanut butter...
