My wife and I were snowmobiling yesterday and went to the top of Calispell peak in Washington (well, I did, she is the little dot below). While up there I heard this thump thump thump and then a military helicopter came up over the crest, maybe 200 feet above me and circle around us.

Kind of cool, although they kept circling so we left the area. I wonder if they were doing winter training. There are signs on the trails below that say "Caution USAF winter training" but they are permanent signs. I kind of also wonder what exactly I am cautioning against. Some survival test where they will steal my granola bars?

Living on the US border we have helicopters following us all the time!

Just give a hello wave. They may have been looking for their collogues, or they may have been on rescue mission training.

As you know we depend on those folks when **** fools have accidents in the Cascade mountains.

At least they weren't aliens.
