2010 Buick La Crosse.......Can It Save Buick?

18 MPG city. You could almost turn it in as a clunker!

Nice. I'm not sure Buick is in any trouble (at least any more than any other GM brand, lol). I believe they are one of the top sellers in China. Oh, the iron knee. Nice looking car.

The Buick is a great looking car but the fuel economy just doesn't cut it. We're driving a '08 Saturn Vue (maybe to be relabled a Penske Vue). It gets just what it was rated, 18/28. Even though we don't drive that much, when this lease is up I'm going for 35/45 minimum. I personally drive a little '98 Ford Escort 5-speed. Even with A/C I get 32 mpg around town. I think that within three-four years gas will be back up to $4/gal and there will be the wailing and nashing of teeth.

I think they will sell very well, it's a very nice looking car. I think they will steal a lot of former Chrysler 300 customers too.

I don't care all that much about fuel economy and I'm willing to bet the average Buick customer doesn't either.

The average Buick owner is 63 years old and has plenty of money to buy gas. They are going for the younger 40 ish successful types with this car. The Enclave is a nice looking SUV and they wanted to expand that styling.......:D

If I'm still driving in 10 years, I'll like it. Right now I'm more interested in the 1998, 99 supercharged Rivieras. They are real sleepers.

Might get one next year. The prices will certainly be in right ballpark. Since I sold my 74 Benz, I have room for one more.

Buick is doing very well in China as part of the GM joint venture with Shanghai Automotive. In 2007, sales of Buick in China were close to US sales. In 2008, China Buick sales exceeded Buick sales in the US.

The joint venture's Buick operation started with the US Buick Regal, then began modifying it more each year for the China market.

Supposedly, a big reason GM decided to can Pontiac versus canning Buick, was Buick's great name and sales in the Chinese market. In China, the Buick stands for quality, and the cachet of having arrived at the personal position of having enough Yuan to afford one.

Heck yeah, for the price they're asking for this Buick, I might take 2 Civics.

Load up an Accord, and the price is almost the same.......:ROFLMAO:

A loaded up Accord would be the same as a base model stripped down La Crosse? Well, that's a no brainer which one I would take... :D
