Molly Ivins has died of cancer at the age of 62.

Wow, I am sorry to hear this. I really liked reading her articles.

I knew that she was once again batteling cancer. I am saddened by her passing. She has left an interesting legacy for us Texans to consider.

I will miss her. I am not particularly a fan of Texas but she was an important voice in my appreciation of the place. I think her criticisms particularly of its politicians came from a love of the place. I am originally a Chicago boy and I came to see her as a Mike Royko who could really take apart the local place and particularly politicians and get a message across with humor that would not otherwise be entertained.
