I know very little about gambling (certainly not against it), but our local sports show had this fellow on from Las Vegas...very entertaining and a fun speaker. Anyway he was talking about all the side bets a person can make...what team will have the first injury timeout, how long the National Anthem will take (over under 2 min?) just a bunch of crazy type bets. He said some casino's (given enough lead time) will give you odds on just about anything you can think of.

I'll be hoping for some fun commercials. Maybe some surprise cameo appearances by famous interesting people, selling potato chips, etc.

I imagine the Pats are going to win. Why predict against Brady and Belichick in a big game (or in any game)? I also think that the prolonged half-time will help Belichick make even more significant adjustments than he normally makes.

I find myself going back and forth on this game. I would like the Falcons to win, but I'm picking final score Pats 34, Falcons 27 with experience beating out a really hot hand.

The only way Atlanta scores less than 30 is if Ryan in injured early or they have several turnovers. I wouldn't bet on either.

I found myself going back and forth. I can see a situation where the Falcons roll over the Pats with the explosive offense. But at the same time, the Packers' secondary was so banged up that I don't think they will have as much success against NE. So I figured, NE's defense will neutralize the high flying Falcons somewhat. Plus, Brady and NE can control the clock and score pretty well on their own, which makes the match up really good :).

The number 1 offense in points scored Atlanta is going against the number 1 defense in points allowed NE. The last 6 times this scenario happened in the SB the defense won 5 times.

BTW the Pats' offense is ranked 3rd in points scored and The Falcons defense number 27.

That's why the Pats are favored.

Pretty much the same reasoning exactly for my end prediction.

As expected, Ryan won MVP this year. A bit more added pressure for the Falcons to win the SB? :)

I expected Ryan to win MVP and it was very much deserved but why was Rodgers so far down? He should have been second without question. Then there's a bit of a gap before getting to Brady, Prescott, and Carr in that order IMO.

Maybe whomever does the voting (sports writers?) starting voting mid season before Rodgers went on that big run?

MVP voting in any sport always carries a subjective element. By most valuable, is that the best stats? Or the most important to the team? Plus, how far does the team go in the playoffs? Those factors, right or wrong come into play.

I don't know the rules as far as when the votes are done but I feel they should only be able to be submitted during the week between the end of the regular season and the start of the playoffs. I can only assume the votes for Carr came in before his injury which shouldn't happen.

I think the announcement of who won shouldn't even happen til after the SB. I believe in baseball, the MVP isn't announced until a few weeks after the world series.

The pre-anouncement, IMO, adds a bit of distraction to the SB. The point about Carr, leads me to think again that a lot of the voting happened during the course of the season. The Falcons and Cowboys pretty much dominated their way to the post season.

I'm gonna tune all the SB coverage hype (about 7:30 am as I type) which I bet is starting about now  and just watch the, hopefully, very exciting game.

I'm just happy the Texans made it to the "Superbowl" again. Oops, sorry about that, I mean the Superbowl made it to Texas again.

As I have said before, it looks like the only way the Texans are going to the Superbowl, is if they buy tickets like everyone else. :nonono:

To pause the SB or not on my DVR? That's the question.

Usually, I just pause an hour ahead and skip past the commercials. But if the game is a blowout, the commercials may be the best part (like that SB between Seattle and Denver a few years back).

I'll probably pause anyhow (can anyone say pee break :D), but will have to block all outside communication. Especially from a brother who likes to talk live sports. One phone call or text can ruin the entire drama.

I would bet that they do not have to buy a ticket if they want to watch... just show up and watch...

I think this will be the most exciting SB in many years. I wouldn't be surprised to see upwards of 70 points scored. I'm rooting for Atlanta to win and predicting 38-34.

I may have to revise this.

As Dandy Don used to sing, 'Turn out the lights...'

But I guess anything is possible.

I'm hoping it's not over either. If it is this has been the worst NFL playoff year I can remember. Hope the Pats can come back to make a game of it.

Normally I would prefer a close, tough fought game. However, the worse NE can lose, the better.

Well I'm a Pats fan, but that first half was hard to watch. The Falcons have more than earned this win so far...

The guy who bet $1.1 MIL on the Falcons is looking like a genius now.

So far, the Pats just can't seem to run, catch, pass or kick today. I never would have guessed it would be this one sided. Brady may set a record for getting sacked.
