Towing a 2016 VW GTI a long distance Auto trans

A relative of mine is moving. She wants to tow her car behind the moving truck.

How do you safely tow a 2016 VW GTI safely for over 1000 miles. It will be hooked behind a rented moving truck. The truck has the power to tow it. I am concerned because the manual says not to tow it more than 30 miles.

Assuming it's front wheel drive, just put the front wheels up on a dolly and off you go. I've towed our VW Beetle 1100 miles to and from FL a few times, with no negative effect. If you can put it up on a 4 wheel trailer you can tow it anywhere with a road. Just don't tow it flat.

Yeah, a dolly is the way to go.

The choice is either a dolly or a car trailer. UHaul has them both available.
