7 years - buying used

2011 Honda CR-V - 3/2014
2003 Olds Aurora - 5/2017 - this one was my mothers former car and only had 22,750 miles on it. It replaced my 2011 Buick Lacrosse CRS

2006 Accord
2007 Solara

Kept the last car 17 years, expect to keep these just as long.

2010 Focus. I bought it used in 2013

Before that I drove a 1993 Dodge Shadow for 20 yrs.

Before that I was in the military for 20 yrs and had to rotate cars faster than I wanted to due to re-assignments.

2010 Compact import hatchback
1990 Compact import sedan

We're essentially a one car household, with a backup car

2003 Ford F350 I received in October 2002. I just ordered a 2017 F350.

I drive cars/trucks about 15 years, then get a new vehicle.

2012 Civic I got on the last day of the month in April 2012. 73,000 miles later and it's getting better MPG than when she started.

2011 minivan purchased used in 2013, current mileage at 40K
2012 compact SUV purchased used in 2016, current mileage at 51K

And for my college boys:
2010 compact SUV purchased used in 2016, current mileage at 46K
2011 compact SUV purchased used in 2016, current mileage at 65K

The last three vehicles sold/traded were 12 years old when replaced.
When purchased, the price of the above ranged from $6K (but needed $1200 immediate maintenance) to $18K for the minivan

Haven't bought a new car since 1989.

2006 Equinox, 228k miles
2013 Silverado 48k miles

Heh heh heh - The Silverado came with Farm. And then and then are the 1972 Chevy 10 wheel C 60 complete with a 25 foot hydraulic lift boom, a 454 Chevy 1983 Flatbed, Kawasaki and Echo ATV's, Five Tractors and a 1958 John Deere bulldozer which I've gotten to start but haven't had nerve enough to drive yet.:facepalm::nonono:;)

P.S. My Wife has a Honda Fit 2012 - a sensible 'city car.'

Just bought a car last week. It's a 2014 Toyota Corolla S. The S is for Sport which is kind of silly in a Corolla but this one had a back-up camera and I thought that was an excellent idea. 35,000 miles and 3 years old.

But the best feature about this car is WE PAID CASH!!! It's the first time we ever did that.

My previous car is a 2003 Toyota Camry with 84,000 miles and this one is now DHs "new" car. His 2001 Toyota Corolla with 142,000 miles will go on Craigslist in a few weeks.

SUV -7 model years old, bought used 6.5 yrs ago. Now driven by DD, the "family car" that will go to DS when she goes to college

Coupe - 2017 model year, bought used 4 months ago. "Dad's car" (my daily driver)

I have bought my vehicles old and kept them until they are forcibly taken away.

I am driving a 2006 Honda Accord, which was a gift from DF who bought it for me new, and is now passed. It has sentimental value for me and I don't want to give it up.

I like smaller sporty looking cars but not a true sports car as is too expensive and I'm not brave enough to drive it appropriately. I keep my cars about ten years as I have not had great luck with them and get nervous at about 100K miles that they will break down on me. So my last three cars have been:

1986 Honda Prelude
2000 Mercedes C230
2007 BMW 328i (current car)

But for my next vehicle, I want one with more ground clearance and AWD with sufficient cargo room for long road trips so am considering a Subaru Outback.

1987 Mercedes 300E
2002 Mercedes E350
2013 Mercedes C300 Sport

I keep them a while.

Lightly used Mercedes for over 25 years. Used Benzes for sale are all over Florida. Current ride is a 2007 S550 bought for $27k with 40,000 miles. Cost $100k new. Usually drive them another 6-7 years. Given 2 hand me downs to DS. First car for DD was a 97 ML320 (a tank) which is now my beater truck. Do nearly all my own work.

I've driven nothing but SUVs for 30 years.
I get a new one about every five years, when they have close to 150K miles on them.

I'm 56. 2008 Honda Accord LX - 130,500 miles on it. I am certain that it will last another 5 to 10 years.

I may sell it next year and buy my wife's 2015 Toyota Camry XLE. She wants a smaller car and we bought the Toyota for her in a bit if haste after she totaled her 9 year old VW Jetta.

BTW - totaling her VW was one of the best outcomes as nobody was hurt, she received a very high payout from the insurance company, and her ownership fell in the doughnut hole where she was entitled to the VW Jetta rebate ($2,500) as well.

2013 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS with 58k miles. Engine light came on when out of town earlier this week. Took it to the nearest dealer and ended up needing a computer update of some kind. Hopefully not something that will start popping up.

Have about 35K miles on a used Honda Fit. Car is about 5 years old.

BMW 328d 2014 (for 15 more days)
BMW 330i 2017, pick it up at the end of the month.

I only typically keep cars for 3 years, then lease a new one. OK..... it is my only real extravagance.
