Street, hope she recovers soon. Our GD is wearing a brace now after she hurt her wrist learning to do back bends, and walkovers. 1st thought it was just a sprain after xray, but after seeing specialist it was determined to be a small bone fracture on mri. She will be in this for 3 weeks if she does good. She isn't too happy because her handstands and things are now no noes and she can't use it very good.

^^^ Thanks for your thoughts and still feel bad about it but it always could have been worse.
Venturer, that is about the length of time she has to be casted also.

At least nobody needed to see an orthopedic surgeon. So, not too bad.

We continued working on stuff around the house. Caulked a bunch of little screw holes and holes through the outside wall, where I removed old wires and cables etc. Removed a couple more old driveway lights and pulled up old buried wires. Still lots of things to do around here. I'm at it 3-4 hours or so almost every day. The good part is no hurry, and no deadline.

Been several years, so we took a drive over to Bombay Beach on the south end of the Salton Sea. It is shrinking like mad, but we like the ..odd.. nature of Bombay Beach. Really glad we did - the community has become crazy arty and there is art all over but very free, not no touchy at all.

I'm pretty sure Granddaughter will remember yesterday! We made a snowman with a carrot nose and had a great day till we went sledding behind the house.

My wife, I and Stella were sledding and all going down the hill and DG fractured her wrist. It was a Buckle Fracture so she will be getting a cast for it this morning sometime.

We feel terrible about it, mom and dad just don't need to deal with this as there is about 5 weeks till new baby arrives. They have busy lives with demanding work loads so that is the other reason for feel so bad.

DG facetimed this morning and wants to come back and sled today. Lol Was nice to see her happy face today and not those sad eyes yesterday.

Don't feel like doing much today with what happened yesterday.

Will see if I can get a SnowDog bought if they call me back but will take some long walks and enjoy the outdoors.

Street - Don't feel terrible. Accidents happen. And she feels well enough to want to do it again. I went through a similar situation watching my nephew when he was very young. At the time I felt bad for not watching him closer. But I doubt anyone remembers it now but me.

Your GD will recover soon & get some more sledding in this winter.

Worked my part-time gig at the gravel quarry today. Storms and the holidays have slowed both sales and production so only there a couple hours. Spent most of the time replacing and repairing equipment in my lab.

Thanks, Ronstar.
Wife, this evening ask son how she was doing. He said, you would think that she broke both legs too. Lol I think he must be waiting on her hand and foot. Lol

Trying to untangle a messy auto collision claim.

Daughter was driving to work on a city street. She was stopped in her lane when a driver backed up from a block away and hit her. He jumped out of the car initially and claimed daughter hit him, but dash camera and witnesses tell what really happened. Fortunately no injuries.

The other driver is 100% at fault, his insurance company reviewed the video and witness statements and made this finding.

The wrinkle is the other driver was in a Hertz rental car and his insurance company (Grange) needs him to supply the rental agreement before proceeding with repairs. The other driver refuses to supply this document and so far Hertz doesn’t want to provide it to her. We could go through daughters insurance .. State Farm .. but that’s going to cost the kid $500.

Frustrating when others don’t stand up and take responsibility for their actions!

Call State Farm. They deal with stuff like this every day. That's part of the service you get for all the premiums you pay. What makes you think it will cost her $500? The responsible party should be paying for all damages. Her deductible won't come into play.

Exactly, Even when you are not at fault, you engage your agency. They will go after the one that's liable, which means you don't hit your own policy for a claim, and don't pay a deductible.

At least, back in the days when I would have wrecks, and the other guy was at fault, that's how SF always handled it for me.

Daughter was on the phone with State Farm yesterday, described the situation and was told $500 deductible.

So far I’ve been communicating with his insurance and Hertz. Will call our insurance, State Farm, on Monday.

Thanks, Ronstar.

Ha, she's discovered the silver lining in this injury and is gonna milk it for all it's worth!

I had a somewhat similar situation about ten years ago. There were all sorts of difficulties about the other guy's insurance (he was driving his uncle's car, the uncle was hard to find, and it was hard to determine what coverage the uncle had, etc., etc.)

So I just used my own comprehensive to get mine repaired, and paid the $1K deductible. My insurance company said they would do everything they could to get that back for me, but it would take some time.

Sure enough, about eight months later they finally succeeded and sent me a check for the $1K. So it was all OK in the end.

Had to do my year end inventory for my small home based business. It's a yearly requirement for taxes. Doesn't take too long to do, couple hours total.

In addition to running errands and taking dogs to dog park this morning.
