The bookmark it as your default link to the forum. Best I can telll, that is close to what you may have been used to from the old board. Within each thread, there's a "View Newest Post" link in the top header, also handy and familiar.

Rich,
Thanks very much--this will be my new gateway tot he forum. It seems to work well for me (Mozilla browser), and is a good workaround to regaining some of the old functionality. I guess finding "replies to threads you've participated in" will just require us to use the "Subscribed threads" thang. Click, click, click, scroll, scroll, etc. A visit to the board is now an aerobic workout.
Maybe when folks have found all the workarounds needed to bring us back to the previous baseline, we can consolidate them into a single sticky FAQ. Proposed title: "The Way We Were."

Excellent, thanks.
Now, all I need is a one-click link to my posts (to see the replies, of course, not to just reread my wonderful contributions).
If you need it without the ...'s
Code:

Al, I found this link works for me in the way "read unread replies to your posts" did:
http://www.early-retirement.org/forums/subscription.php
See if it works for you. I did nothing to set this up, nor could I see how to modify it; I think the admin. set me up with this Subscription Folder automatically at some point. It wasn't there in early days.

Edit: just found more explanation of subscriptions here:

As a follow-up, it would be great if you could configure your profile to automatically invoke "View First Unread Thread" automatically any time you opened a thread.
Andy, since the code is obviously already written for that functionality in two separate routines, is there anyway to add: "Open and View First Unread Thread" functionality from the forum view?
If not, please add it to the wishlist.

Rich,
The link you started this thread with ( http://www.early-retirement.org/foru....php?do=getnew ) no longer works for me ("Sorry, no matches found").
