Changing SSID without reinstalling all devices

Did you miss that the OP got a new router, quite likely with a different default name?

You'll find routers are different in the SSID. I remember when some model came with WiFi on and same SSID as everyone. You could change it.

But now for security reasons it should be off when you set up, but it probably isn't.

The latest Netgear I added automatically filled in something or other with a -2G or -5G when I turned on 5G, and then 2G. I don't take the default SSID name.

Changing the default login name sometimes works against those who don't write stuff down. Lol.
