Myers-Briggs and early retirement - the spinoff

I'm an INTJ as well.

All I know is that when the HR guy found out I was a INTJ, he said "huh ho, that ain't good"...;)

IIRC, early retirement correlates strongly with 3 MB types: ISTJ, INTJ and INTP.

I am ENTJ; however as I remember the E was not too far from a possible I. I think of myself more as a people needing introvert rather than a true extrovert. Groups energize me rather than tire me, but I also have quite a few solitary pursuits that I would not want to trade for more party time.

Both my kids seem the same.

"I can relate since my job was also very demanding and when the grueling commute was added in life was just a blur."(Purron)

I think this is huge. People want to live where they want to live, or where they find the house they want. Often it would be a happier choice to pick someplace close to work, and look for the best house/condo/apartment available very nearby. Ideally, walking.

IMO people almost always underweight how much stress is added to their lives by a long or difficult commute. Add in bridges or other bottlenecks and it is just like adding another job.

Ha

Yeah... Judging by the info I found about 60% of the working population is also.

Probably a separate thread but here is more MB personaility profiles & info for those interested. There is also a short survey you can you take on the site to determine yours as well.

I'm an ESTJ but also lean towards ISTJ.

It doesn't mean that all administrators or architects or engineers are INTJs. Those are some of the jobs that INTJs tend to gravitate to. Only 2.1% of the population in INTJ. It is one of the rarer type.

My MBTI Personality Type - My MBTI Results - How Frequent Is My Type?

INTP according to the quickie test on line...

Found another online test and now I'm INFJ. Hmmmmm. :D

ISTJ, maybe somebody can create a poll with all 16 choices..

John Greaney ("intercst"), the founder of the Retire Early Home Page (which first got me into early retirement thinking) has an interesting Myers-Briggs survey/study on his web site:

Is There a Retire Early Personality Type?

In the spirit of full disclosure, the last time I took the Myers-Briggs I was an ESTJ with an "E" so low that it could easily be an "I" if I had answered a couple of questions differently.

Interesting. I don't think I've ever seen so many INTJs in one group. I'm usually the only one.

ENTJ, but everything is either "moderate" or "slight," no obviously strong tendencies in any of the four indices.

I'm a pffffttttttt...or PFFT for short.

Ok...so I took the test. I'm an ISFP.

So....there you go.

INTJ... I used to think I wanted to be an INFJ but I just wasn't one.
