Hi everyone
I took a break from the site, no particular reason, just got busy with other things. Next time I'll leave a note to that effect.
Hi! I noticed you've been gone and wondered where you've been.

News from over the weekend: my wife will be starting a role as assistant minister for our home congregation. We were looking for a place for her over several months and it turns out our pastor wants to cut back on his hours and floated a "job sharing" arrangement to the congregation at our annual meeting last Sunday, which it approved. So now she has a "call"... sort of. And we don't even have to move!
This will enable her to start the process of entering a formal program in conjunction with a seminary offering courses in Austin -- which provides an alternative path to becoming an ordained pastor in 3-4 years.

Happy Birthday!....you finally caught up with me.Worked. My co-worker took me out to lunch for my birthday (54), with his wife & their new son. Otherwise, a fairly uneventful day.

I am happy to report that Mr B made the President's List with a GPA of 4.0 (4 As in all 4 courses) last semester. We made a copy and sent it to his Mom.
I came out of the holidays with a weight gain of 5 lbs. Argh! Better get my keister back in gear.
+1I hope that you do not stop letting us know what you do today, just because of one poster. I for one enjoy reading it! Keep posting!

I am running out of things to do around the house, so I will get Zelinkski's book out and pick a new life adventure to pursue while Mr B cracks the books again this semester. He has a course that heavily involves algebra, so I will be his math tutor for that. I'll be using 3 dimensional objects to help him get the concepts down. This oughta be good.
Yeah, that's pretty cool. The church does own clergy housing that is now vacant so that may be an option down the road, especially if my FIL moves down here as he plans to before too long. He could rent our current house and we could move into the parsonage. It's only 5 blocks away from here.Wow, Ziggy, this is great news! Congratulations to your DW. How terrific that you don't have to move, too.
It's 84º here now. Looking at the 10-day forecast now, it's pretty much official -- this is The Year There Was No Winter.Traditionally the coming week is the coldest week of the year for us, so spring here we come!

Maybe it takes time. Did I say 84? Try 86.Now that you have connections with the Big Guy upstairs through your DW, maybe you can ask for things to get back to normal soon.
Hey, we do that every January here too!Maybe it takes time. Did I say 84? Try 86.
Think about it -- in the middle of January I'm opening doors and windows to WARM UP the house.
