What was your happiest moment today?

When I finished my workout, soon to be supplanted by a few happy hour brewskis...

Every day is the happiest... we celebrate our 6 decades of marriage every morning, with a 2 minute hug.

Shedded the cane 3.5 weeks after hip replacement surgery and walking 10,000 steps per day now. All is good.:)

Dog is happy as our multi-walk days are back to normal.

^Excellent news, aja8888! 10,000 steps a days is a lot of steps to do day in and day out - especially a few weeks after a hip replacement. My BIL had a hip replacement 2 or 3 months ago and has some issues - he should be doing your routine.

Ron,

Some folks don't recover as well as I did (in both hip replacements now).

My Doc, who has done 1,000's of anterior procedure replacements, told me he wasn't going to write an order for PT because my leg muscles were very strong going in to the surgery. He told me to "get moving" and start walking as soon as I can. Prior to the surgery, even with the osteoarthritis pain (Aleve helped), I was walking 10,000+ steps per day for the last two years.

Maybe I am one of the lucky ones who heals quickly?

happiest moment of the day... 18th hole... my drive finds a really deep pot bunker ~ 100 yds from the pin... my approach doesn't clear the top of the pot bunker and bounces up in the air and advances about 15 yards down the fairway. Now I'm 85 yds from the pin. Take my trusty lob wedge and hit a shot right at the pin but I can't see the ball on the green... I assume that I'm short of the green.

As we drive up to the green I see my ball about 12" from the pin for a easy tap-in par.

That's 2 seconds for each year of marriage.... so I only get a minute and a quarter but that sounds like a grand idea! I'll try it tomorrow morning.

Watching my new pet yellow stripe shrimp zoom around their tank looking for bits of food.

DD2 got engaged to her boyfriend of 8 years. Continuing my lucky streak of good people being added to my family. DW many years ago, of course, but her parents are great in-laws, I enjoy all three of our adult children, DD1 married a great guy five years ago, and I like the next son-in-law a lot too. I am a very fortunate fellow.

Reading in front of the fire and then falling asleep for 2 hours.

Cancelling DW's cardio version today because her heart is back to normal rhythm. She has Afib, and we will see the cardiologist Thursday to see about an ablation.

So with that in mind, what was your happiest moment today?

Right now, I am laying on the couch at home with my DW sleeping next to me while looking at the lit Christmas tree. That is the winner for the day. As a backup moment of the day, I just finished watching a roughly 1.5 hour YouTube interview of Grant Cardone and it was extremely interesting:

Opening Day At Lost Trail Powder Mountain!

That’s an easy one. Opening day at my favorite ski mountain! A recent low dose CT scan cam back showing “severe emphysema”. Quite a shocker having quit smoking 18.5 years ago. I’m 66 now and in pretty good shape working out regularly with a trainer at a local gym. So I’ve had no real symptoms so far. But the diagnosis has put a lot of stress on me where I normally have no stress. I’ve been gradually accepting it, but it has so far stolen about a month of my life, pondering a future I cannot control. Gave me a huge case of GERD that I’m not accustomed to either. I am now ready to return to my normal happy state of gratitude. And nothing does that for me better than skiing downhill fast in some of God’s greatest natural cathedrals.

Yesterday, after having beagles in my life for 40 years, I took our new beagle pup into the show ring.

It was the first time for both of us, I got great coaching from the judge and other beaglers, and I really enjoyed the experience.

I’m happy that I finally just did it.

I can relate to this as I have dogs that compete as well. Do you do field trials with your beagles? Those are a blast.

Sharing a laugh and a kiss with the wife - 43 years next week. Yoga class. A walk in somewhat sunny SW MI felt really good. Then a diet coke with a dash of lemon. Now that I think about the day - it was pretty sweet.

You are probably a great person. Keep enjoying your life and living your dream!

My Roth balance passed a milestone that has been a goal for a long time.

Grateful I talk to, party with, celebrate b-days, holidays, graduations, travel with, laugh, share stories with my family. We are on polar opposites of the political spectrum. But I love and respect them. And will always be there for them as they will for me. I have a big family and our discussions have the potential of going to the dark side. We avoid that path, enjoy and appreciate each other.

Very wise. I have salvaged relationships in the great political divide by getting agreement to respectfully disagree. Just about everyone seems relieved to move on to other topics. And that one neighbor with a one-track mind who is persistently very aggressive about all of it, well I remain positive but just see less of her.

Woke up this morning completely done with a bad multi-day migraine (very rare since FIRE). Felt completely renewed and grateful. Energetic enough to grab a good airfare that popped up for an upcoming trip to Puerto Rico. Promised myself that I'd redouble efforts to not let time slip through my fingers.

Woke up this morning with DGS, age 4, "Grandma do you want to play with me in the toy room?"
Beautiful words that put a smile on my face!

Fantastic, Pellice!

Played Pickleball at a new place today. Was told I am in the 4.0 category, so made my day.
Felt such a rush after playing for over 3 hours indoors.
