What new series are you watching? *No Spoilers, Please*

Line of Duty on Amazon Prime. I’ve just started season 3 of 4 Seasons. Really well acted crime drama.

Agreed. It's very interesting. I've enjoyed the first three seasons and am looking forward to the next one.

But, I didn't realize how many corrupt coppers there are in the UK. The only honest ones seem to be in Midsomer county where the quirky citizens are obsessed with murdering each other for any reason.

I just started an old series on Acorn TV: Inspector George Gently.

Watched the first episode last night and enjoyed it very much.

The guide to not getting murdered in a quaint English village. Lots of excellent advice! :D

The comments are even funnier than the article.

GOT's problem, for us, was it became waaaaay to complicated, too many characters, too many sub-plots and too long between seasons. we gave up after season 1.
Well, the length between seasons is no longer an issue of course. I think one of the things that set GOT apart from many other sagas is that there were really no indispensable characters i.e. you could never be sure that even a seemingly major character would survive. And there were events when a whole bunch would meet their doom - that's all I'll say to avoid spoilers.

Haven't seen it yet. Will some day.

So you are saying characters die? Thanks for the spoilers!

We've started Getting On on Hulu. Billed as a comedy, and it is. sort of. Huge dollops of Dilbert-esq characters and situations, only way more real. Brilliantly plausible dialogue. Hospital setting in Ward B4, which seems to be a final stop before patient's exit. After four episodes can't tell if it makes me mournful or amused. Worth trying a few - see what you think.

We wrapped up "Your Honor" (Showtime) a couple of nights ago...and WOW. That was an incredible series. I am very hopeful there is a follow up season.

On the other side of the coin, we watched a docuseries on Netflix called, "Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel" Well... IMBD gave it a 6/10 and scored 57% on Rotten Tomatoes. If I was scoring it...I would have given it 0/10 and 0%...yes, it was THAT BAD. Adding insult to injury, I can't get those 4 hours of my life back. Even worse, Ron Howard was a producer.

I watched Damages years ago. I absolutely loved it!

Really enjoying our PBS Passport subscription.

Loved All Creatures Great and Small! Such a feel-good miniseries.

Found Miss Scarlet and the Duke to be quite enjoyable.

Just watched Part 1 of the 3 part miniseries "The Long Song" last night. Intense and fantastic so far.

Showtime has announced that Your Honor was a one-and-done...it's not coming back. but it was very well done. Cranston is excellent.

we just 'discovered' Resident Alien on SyFy. we actually laughed out loud with the program rather than at the program. so far, so good.

I just finished binge watching all the seasons over the last few weeks. I loved it and have 2 viewing tips. I turned on subtitles after a while because I kept rewinding to try and catch some of what they said. It helped alot and I picked up some cool British jargon. Tip #2 - there’s 5 seasons, but the 5th one isn’t on Prime, but it is on Acorn. I did the free 7 day trial to get the 5th season.

Season 6 is supposed to be out before end of March. Can’t wait.

I just started Broadchurch last night and like it so far. And I recognized some stars from other series -the Queen Elizabeth actress from The Crown and Kate Fleming from Line of Duty!

I thought everyone knew the most dangerous place in the world is anywhere near Jessica Fletcher ?!:LOL:

Not being au courant I had to look that one up.

Ah man...that's unfortunate. It was one of the best shows (and what cliff hangers!) I have seen in a while.

I just started the 2nd season of High Seas on Netflix.

I bet Jessica Fletcher does her Atlantic crossings on that ship.

Currently watching the Umbrella Academy which is a Netflix show. I found another bunch of shows which I wanna watch like the witcher, money heist and the good doctor :D

Currently enjoying "Ripper Street" - a BBC production currently on Netflix. Pretty standard BBC crime/drama set in London just after the Jack the Ripper murders. Each episode is a separate story.

We watched Broadchurch 1st and loved it also.

Thank you for the information on Season 5. I might have to get the free 1 week trial on Acorn. We just finished the series last night. This genre of shows are one of the few DH and I enjoy together. And yes, we also have to add CC from time to time.

Cheers!

This looks like it might be interesting:

If it’s cold and snowy where you are, and you want to steer into the skid, try this six-episode thriller, set at a research outpost in Antarctica. The 10 people who are sticking around for the dark winter all have some kind of secret, and the show unfolds less as “The Thing” (though there is some of that) and more as a frigid murder mystery: One of the people in this room is the killer!

As an Old Antarctic Explorer (OAE) I will need to check this one out.

Sure wish I could watch either Raised by Wolves or Yellowstone without having to pay for it. But I only have Netflix, Prime, and Apple TV.

Do you think someday there will be a service that provides access to all television content? Similar to how Amazon Music or some of the other music services essentially give access to all music.

I get DVD's from the library, usually a year behind or so but that doesn't bother me its free. I just added yellowstone season 1-3 to my list. Might take a few months to get them but I have a lot of items already in my list.

More shows should do that. Plan for one or two good seasons, give us a good ending and get out. Too many shows get good ratings and they try to keep them going and they just get more ridiculous as they go because the writers are pretty much out of ideas.
