Went out to the little boat and measured tire pressures, took pics of trailer and got hitch ball data for my potential buyer. Edited and texted the buyer the info. Planning to river test Saturday.

Always dumb struck by this stuff (trailer info) because I've never trailered a boat. But most people do, so no real surprise.

But now I'm selling and people want to know...

Now I know - :)

Had a fun day doing leaves and just back in from doing more. She wanted to rake this morning and actually did a pretty good job. She wanted to rake more so after dinner she did more small pile and my wife filled some halloween bags.

She is 5 years old and 52 inches tall so she can handle that long hadle rake pretty good. Lol

So good for them to get out of the house and be outside.

Wonderful! There is something special about raking leaves.

Yeah, when you're young. Then you get to dive into the leaf pile!

Snow forecasted for Saturday and beyond a few days here. Would be a bad time for a boat ride here. Still a lot of boats out on the river fishing yet though. Lol

I hope for a partially good day because we want to tin a roof Saturday.

Accounting and bill payment in the morning then 4 hours at the gym. 1.5 with a trainer and 1.5 on my own and aerobic. Swim, stretch, Steam , shower, drive home, picked up some chicken breasts on the way which I cooked up for dinner. A simple healthy day. Am determined to get healthy and strong again even if I am getting older. The pandemic really destroyed my muscle mass even if I didn’t really gain weight, was just no where near as strong as I used to be. That end NOW!

Voted!
Pamphlets arrives last week, plenty of time to study, Ballots came yesterday.
Ballots marks, sealed, envelope signed and placed in the box.

Raked more leaves with GD. She wanted to be outside at 7 and was just getting light out. We spent most of morning doing leaves and she had a lot of fun. I let her sue the leaf blower and that was a new experience for her. Her uncle and family came to pick her up so she will be with her cousins for day and the overnight.

Mom will be returning here later today from a workday out of the area.

I'm heading to ranch soon to spend time there on this beautiful autumn day.

Bike race today.

Based on previous finishes, got a “call up” to the front row of the start line. Launched fast and held 3rd for a while. Dropped back to 8th by the finish. Pretty happy with that result given I was racing in an “Open” class against mostly younger guys.

Help my son metal roof the pergalo. Went better than I expected and had a great time helping.

Had a late lunch with his family and DIL mom and dad also. We had a good time with them and have known who they were all our lives but never knew them well. Now our kids are married so we have a lot in common and know a lot of the same people they do etc..

After four wonderful days cruising the Nile, we have arrived in Aswan. This is the view from our balcony. 20221023_151123.jpg

Took the lawn mower partially apart mostly for winter cleaning although I still expect to use it one or two times yet this season. But the weather was so nice it's better to do the bulk of it now instead of when it's 30 degrees and threatening rain/snow. So if I do use it this year I'll just put gas in it and then drain that when I'm finally done for the season.

It gets a thorough cleaning, grease on the axles, new air filter, fresh engine oil, blade sharpened and oiled, and this year I took off and cleaned all the axle height adjusters because they collect grass which in turn holds moisture that causes rust. And all those parts got a light coat of oil.

Now my back hurts like the dickens so I'm taking the rest of the day off.

Sunday lunch with FIL. Wifey and pops had Mexican and I got my fav black garlic ramen. All pickup/takeout on the way.

DFIL is a tough crusty old geezer, just had another toe amputated and slid off the bed last week while getting undressed. He managed to get back on but lost his foot bandage during the struggle. We just learned of this today.

So how long did it take you to get back in bed asked dear wife. Three hours was the answer. Now he has a lifeline alert button right on the night stand. Didn't want to push the button. Like I said, tough old geezer, age 90.

We finished up instructing him to push the button next time. You could be less successful and hurt yourself more, that's why you've been sending in the dough all these years.

I added the time I called 911 because Pops did the same thing, got up to pee and slid off the bed onto the floor. I heard my name shouted at 4 in the morning and I couldn't lift him back in so I called 911 and the magic red truck arrived (w/o sirens) and 3 burly guys got him in.

Help, I've fallen and I can't get up. But I'll keep trying for 3 hours rather than push the magic button which I've been paying thousands for...

Tough old guy.

I cleaned shop and my brother and SIL drove down to give me a hand building the box for the NY trip.

Today will be a lazy day to let my legs recover from the weekend. On Saturday & Sunday, I was with my Fire Police unit helping direct traffic in town during the Fall Foliage festival. I was on my feet from 9 am - 4 pm each day.

Yesterday I got home in time to shower and watch the end of the Phillies game. (Yahoo! World Series here we come!) I had just finished dinner and was settling in on the sofa when we were dispatched to town again. This time it was to close streets / set an outer perimeter for the PD, who had a barricade situation.

The situation was resolved without any injuries four hours later. It was interesting to see the prep & operations of the PA State Police, although a little disconcerting when a camouflaged officer snuck up on me ninja-like.

It is such an obvious photo that I am not surprised. I'm sure everyone who has ever stayed at the Old Cataract Hotel has taken it.

I also had to see where Aswan was. Lol You are a long way from home!! Have Fun.

Lol!!
Looking forward to some snow. Hunting will start to be good, and we enjoy the wintah outdoor activities.

You are also going to have to scope out the appropriate size hills for the GD's sledding activites!

Had what is probably one of our last family dinner's on the deck this season (Tenderloin and potatoes). Winter will be setting in soon after we had an unseasonably warm 79 (f) temps yesterday. Took DD on a bike ride to the park, pulling her behind in the bike carriage. Visited with my folks who just got back from an Alaskan cruise. Just an all around great fall day in Minnesota.
