Elizabeth Holmes (Theranos fraud) sentenced today.

If it works, perhaps the FTX guy could identify as female and arrange some surrogate thing, if he ends up getting prosecuted.
Lol. But FTX seems to be a different scenario entirely. I'm not aware anything that FTX guy did caused some innocent person to die unlike Theronos/Holmes by giving out test results that were known to be false and misleading. Plenty of cells to go around though.

Remember seeing one of those Cramer "put them on a pedestal" interviews with her several years ago.
No I don't follow Cramer -watch rarely and for entertainment only!

I remember the follow up interview Cramer aired just after the WSJ story first appeared. She had just received a prestigious award from a doctor's association. She lied boldly and did not back down in any way about her company's technology.

What really gets me is how she fooled Walgreen's.

That's what pathological liars do. Never back down. Never admit to anything.

You can fool a lot of people with your persistence. It works often.

She was a Steve Jobs, and Bill Gates wannabe. A black mark on brilliant women. This a perfect example of gaslighting. Manipulation at its finest. George Shultz's grandson was sounding the alarm. Such a pity.

I see who benefited from FTX money and who is investigating and am pretty sure that this story will disappear.

I’ll take the other side of that bet. Even though the FTX operations and Alameda hedge fund were not US operations, were domiciled internationally in Bermuda and Hong Kong, I’ll wager US prosecutors will find a way to apply US jurisdiction and SBF will be prosecuted in the US.

As for FTX money, it seems everyone benefitted. Except, of course, the depositors and investors.

Pray tell, how does a guy like me who has nothing to do with crypto coins benefit?

Let’s just say they were very generous, gave lots of real money to worthy causes, and donated heavily across the political spectrum.

Was it their money to "donate"?

It did not matter to the recipients of the largesse.

Well, this guy still "shared", compared to other corrupt businessmen who hoarded illicit money and did not "share".

She will get three hots and cot, plus time to excercise.

The sharing of other people's money bought him time to become a legend (well, for a while, anyway :D)

Oh, I suspect he will be a legend for a very long while. Right up there with Enron, Bernie Madoff, and perhaps even Mr. Ponzi himself.

We don’t yet know if this was outright fraud or something else, nor do we know how much real money was lost, but it doesn’t look good for Mr. SBF and his cohorts.

Stealing is now called sharing?

Well, these two actions are different and independent.

You can steal without sharing, or steal then share. :D

I wonder how much SBF has managed to squirrel away somewhere. If he still keeps a few $100 million in a safe spot, he does not care about not looking good if he can stay out of jail.

Back on Holmes, I don't think she would be able to keep any money, even if she managed to put away some. They will be watching her like a hawk.

......

All she has to do after getting out of jail, is slip out one night with a shovel and dig up one of her containers of $$.

Problem for her and other convicts with stashed cash, is high inflation is reducing the value of their stashes.

These people always make me think of what Charles Ponzi said in his last interview.

Even if they never got anything for it, it was cheap at that price. Without malice aforethought, I had given them the best show that was ever staged in their territory since the landing of the Pilgrims! It was easily worth fifteen million bucks to watch me put the thing over.

Ummm....the FTX guy is already in the Bahamas & personally took $300 million for himself during fundraising...who knows where that money is now.

With that much scratch there are plenty of non-extradition jurisdictions that would welcome him with open arms.

And I'm guessing that $300 million is in actual old fashioned currency and/or gold/silver. Oh, the irony!
