Just this week:

1) New loaded Lenovo X1 Carbon Laptop
2) 4tb ssd for the above
3) Memory upgrade for my Synology NAS
4) Additional Remote for new Awnings
5) New Double Oven Slide in Range
6) New Queen Size Mattress
7) New Zapperbox for OTA TV Channels (Cut the cord last month)
8) New Roku Ultra

I am planning on spending every penny of my SS that I too this year at 69.

Remote control boat lift blower motor unit. DW is tired of jumping in and out of the boat when we take it out. Makes it a whole lot easier when I go out by myself too.

I sent off another $1600 to my draftsman/designer to work on the house plans, and splurged $350 for the structural engineering for a 6' x 11' cantilevered balcony, does this qualify?
I figure it does, because I can self-design a 4' deep cantilever for free.

Almost $1000 to have a tree removed. Not because it was dead or dying. It's just "Adams Family" horror film ugly.

Just pushed the buy button on a Tesla model Y. White exterior and Black/White interior. Pretty excited! Set to deliver in "June or July"...

It sure was a a lot more fun than the $1500 dental bill I just paid...

Just an observation, haven’t seen a post from RobbieB for several months. He was a big contributor o this topic in particular.

Congrats, let us know when you get it. Sounds like a short wait.

Yeah he’s been awol for several months. Hopefully he’s having fun blowing that dough!

Yeah, I really miss RobbieB. The sage of BTD.

Our BTD this year was a trip to France and England.
We were gone almost 3 weeks.
It was a great trip, lots of wonderful pastries, food and wine in Paris. Great pub food in England. We were lucky to have very mild weather and rain didn’t interfere with any of our plans.
Our credit card bill has just arrived and I think it definitely qualifies as a BTD post!

Was it creepy & kooky, mysterious & spooky, all together ooky? :)

For us over the last month...~$2,000 for wedding rehearsal dinner catered by a local Italian place (lasagna, ziti, chicken parmesan) at the church.

This month so far: ~$1,500 to pros to have the deck completely stripped via power washing, sanding, & then re-stained.

Original stain would not stick after two re-applications so we're switching brands...fingers crossed.

Well, I finally did it. DW had not prepared for my BD (as I had just done for hers), and she said I could get the big quartz crystal for myself. I still went back to the gallery manager to try and get a better price ($3000 list). After discussing with the owner, they agreed to my ask of 25% off, good for 24 hours only. With my CC rebate, it was $2200 plus shipping. It’s magnificent and worthy of a museum. It’s even better than the photo. 25 in tall and 35 lbs.

That is beautiful. I recall the first time I found a chunk of quarts - I must have been 6 - I thought it was a diamond. My mom assured me it was only quarts but agreed that it was beautiful. I've lost track of it, but I'd bet money I still have it somewhere. ENJOY your BTD!

Well done, sir!

I just learned that our chihuahua mix, who has been blinded by cataracts for a few years, will need at least one of her eyes removed. No expense will be spared for her comfort or care.

Yep, we had a cat we called "The Six Million Dollar Cat" aka Lucky (just kidding about the last part.)

Wow some great Blow that Dough enjoyments.

Today my pocketbook got lighter also. Ordered new kitchen cabinetry and bought a riding lawn mower. Cabinets will be here late next week and Monday morning I will go pick up the riding mower and a friend will go with me.

The kitchen remake and mower we really can do without, but my lovely wife wants new cabinets and a rider at the ranch would make life a lot easier me.

I've been looking at the Model Y myself. Which one did you order, the standard, long range or the Performance? They are all nice EV's.

Gosh, unless you are a speed demon the long range is more practical than the performance. Also better wheels - more tire and less prone to wheel scrapes and tire damage. Less stiff ride.

Heh, heh, what was that you were saying about "we can do without?" Maybe the riding lawn mower, but NOT the kitchen remake! THAT is an ESSENTIAL.

Actually, sounds like an excellent BTD to me. Enjoy with your happy wife and your easier mowing. :greetings10:

LOL! True on the kitchen but those old cupboards still did a great job storing plates and all things needed in the kitchen. Lol

If it were just me, I wouldn't need a new kitchen. Lol She could say the same about the riding mower also.

Thanks Koolau.

Downsizing

Signed the contract for a NEW single story, energy efficient, 1,500 square foot home in the process of being built here in Texas. All new everything and in a new neighborhood locally. It won't be completed until late August.

Oh, sold the existing home in two days and 2% over asking price too boot! I move out by the 21st of this month.;)

Great news!! That will be nice and, in my opinion, buying is better than renting at least you are gaining equity. But that is just me.

Yes, rents around here in nice apartment complexes or small houses run around $2,000.00/month plus deposits and extra fees for my dog. The heck with that stuff, so I bought a new house.;)
