NFL 2023 Season

I think because Fairbairn (Place Kicker) was out with an injury, they did some strange(er) things to compensate.

Perhaps someone knows... I would have thought that the punter would have subbed in for the injured kicker for kickoffs, extra points and field goal attempts. Why did they have to use a reserve running back for those things rather than the punter?

^^^^
Now that was strange but interesting to watch!

Texans pulled out another squeaker again today. That's two weeks in a row they won in the final seconds. So strange to see the Texans playing so well.

Gotta hand it to you Houston fans... you have a young team that will not quit.

Meanwhile, I will be out blowing around and raking leaves before it gets dark, to avoid seeing too much of the Giants being mauled by the Cowboys :'(.

It's looking like that was good idea on your part. It's almost the end of the first half and it's been all Cowboys so far.

What the heck has happened to the Giants?

The Giants have quite a few injuries to key positions.

They've lost 4/5ths of their starting O-line -- both Tackles, their Center and one of their Guards. Their Running Back missed 4 or 5 games with an ankle injury. Their starting Tight End is also on IR. Oh, and their down to their 3rd string QB.....an undrafted rookie Free Agent. I won't even get into the injuries to their Defense.

In the Salary Cap era, it's hard to plan around a long list of players missing multiple games.

After this weekend, I had to look up the NFL flex scheduling rules. OK, I see why we got the Bears vs Panthers on TNF, and the Broncos vs Bills tonight on MNF, but why did we get the Jets vs Oakland last night? :facepalm:

Flexible scheduling is in effect during the following windows (the "Flex Scheduling Windows"):

For Sunday Night Football, it may be used up to three times between Weeks 5-14, and at the NFL's discretion during Weeks 15-17;
For Monday Night Football it may be used at the NFL's discretion in Weeks 12-17;
For Thursday Night Football it may be used up to twice between Weeks 13-17.

What an ending to the MNF game!

Broncos kicker misses game winning field goal with 4 seconds left in the game.

But wait folks!

The Buffalo Bonehead Bills get a penalty for having too many men on the field and the Broncos kicker drills the second try for a victory as time expires!

So you play 60 minutes of football and a single bonehead play loses the game for you!

Josh Allen could not have "said" it any better.

And it was hilarious. I thought Denver's kicker just "choked" when he missed that last FG which should have been an easy one... Maybe he did, but as you say, he got it on the redo. Lucky break.

It was one of those endings where DW comes running down to the mancave where youngest DS and I were watching, asking "what's wrong?? I can hear you two yelling!"

Funny hou HOU moved up to #10 from #31 (?). Must have something to do with the rookie QB :cool:. Also, it's possible that HOU can make it to the playoffs.

Have you have been drinking water from Lake Conroe again?

I don’t think that list takes Burrows recent injury into consideration.

This Monday’s Super Bowl rematch should be interesting. The Eagles seem to find ways to win games. I hope that continues. Personally, I believe it’s a coin flip.

Just have a look at the AFC South standings ang you will see why I posted that. And yes, I really think my water comes from the lake now.;)
Well, they won again today.:) So did the Cowboys, but I expected that.
