Thinks s/he gets paid by the post
The 1st of May marked 15 years since we first quit our jobs & began this ER journey in earnest.
We are happy and healthy with much to keep us engaged.
Our portfolio is a little higher (in real terms) than when we started back in 2008. While our SWR is based on Bob Clyatt's 4%/95% method, we've never used the 95% backstop. Our annual spending has mostly been under 4% of the portfolio at the beginning of the year.
A big difference from the early years is that a few of our friends have now retired and our retired status is now seldom met with surprise. All good things!
I'm grateful for the advice and support and sense of community that this forum has provided.
If you're interested, here are my past updates on this ER journey. It may also be of interest to those about to embark on this journey.
